My car is well taken care of but about 2 months ago the SRS light started to come on out of no where. It randomly comes on and most the time turns off after turning my car off and back on. Sometimes it doesn't come off and sometimes it's off for weeks before coming back on. Again, my car is not altered in any way or has never been in any accident. Car has 50k miles and I bought it from the dealership. I do not trust the dealership I bought it from because when there was a another recall for something with the gas pump, my car literally shut down on me and they took three days to repair something that only takes five minutes because they stated they needed to diagnose it, but I knew exactly what it was and they still did not listen to me
My parked 2020 Honda Accord had a spontaneous side curtain airbag deployment with the engine off, which matches the known humidity/short-circuit sensor defects that are currently under Federal safety recall. The deployment caused damage to the interior of my car, as well! There have been no warnings, indications or issues before. There was no collision or impact of any sort. The car will not start and had to be towed to Hugh White Honda, Columbus Rd. Athens, OH. The service department reported that they can't find the "why" of how it occurred, nor would they be able to repair the damage that occurred from the airbag deployment. The insurance agent said without visible "cause" they will deny any claim.
