First date was 04/23/2024 my truck went into limp mode with an alert reading engine and transmission control module problem. Brought it in and they reset the sensors. Shortly after the alert warning goes off again and I turn the engine off and start it back up. It cleared the alert, I brought it back in on 06/15/2024. They reset sensor and fixed a recall on tailgate. I picked up truck, drove it for 2 months and TCM warning came up and threw truck into limp mode while pulling a 2 horse trailer. It turned a 3 hr drive into a 6 hr drive. I brought back to dealer on 8/19/2024 they had it for 4 days and they notified me that this is an on going problem. It is a transmission solenoid valve stuck open and they ordered the part and told me it could be months before the part gets here due to the ongoing backorder from all the other trucks that have the same problem. …

Problem #1: Trailer brakes failed while pulling 40' fifth wheel trailer. Was driving at about 50MPH on a 55MPH road and was approaching a stop light. I went to apply my truck and trailer brakes simultaneously and quickly found out I had "lost" my trailer brake. This happened another two times within the next 10 mile trip to my house. I immediately disconnected my trailer and took my truck to the shop. The GMC Dealer fixed this issue, however, it is both scary and extremely dangerous to the public when something like this happens on a brand new truck. Problem #2: Right around 30,000 miles I was driving (unloaded) down the road at about 35MPH when I felt a hard clunk in the transmission followed by grinding noises - immediately a notice flashed on the dash stating the truck went into reduced acceleration and the check engine light came on. …

I was merging onto the highway in my 2024 GMC Sierra 2500HD AT4X equipped with the 6.6L Duramax engine at about 50mph when the gauge cluster emitted a "Reduced Acceleration Drive With Care" message followed by a check engine light. The check engine light presented indicated a "P0747" and "P0700" code. The vehicle was then stuck in 5th gear at highway speeds. Luckily there was no traffic present during this event due to the reduced acceleration of the vehicle and confusion caused to the operator. This could have been a dangerous situation due to the sudden change in handling of the vehicle. I have since then had the vehicle towed to the dealership in which it was purchased from for them to do their investigation to see how to fix the issue. This is a very well known issue with these GM heavy duty pickups. …

Code P0777 - "Pressure Control Solenoid 'B' Stuck On" - Reduced Propulsion / Reduced Engine Power Initiated While merging onto the interstate, this code triggered a reduction in engine power, limiting my speed to 35 mph on a highway with a posted limit between 40-70 mph. Due to the limited power, I was forced to drive on the shoulder to reach the next exit and pull into a service station. I verified the code using an OBD-II reader at AutoZone. Subsequently, I had the truck towed approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes back home. The vehicle has been at a GM dealership since June 24th, where the faulty valve body has been confirmed. However, there is currently no estimated arrival date for the replacement part, which was ordered on the same date. To my knowledge, the part has only been diagnosed electronically and has not yet been visually inspected. …

While towing my fifth-wheel trailer, I was descending a hill (I had my tow/haul switch engaged) when I noticed an issue with my vehicle. Upon reaching the bottom of the hill and beginning to decelerate, when applying gas to continue up the hill the vehicle shuddered noticeably. A warning light briefly illuminated on the dashboard and then turned off shortly afterward. Although the warning light went away, the vehicle continued to exhibit a slight vibration, particularly between approximately 25 and 50 mph. I was able to drive the vehicle home safely and subsequently brought it to the dealership for inspection. The dealership performed a diagnostic scan and retrieved fault codes. Based on their findings, they have determined that the transmission requires replacement and are proceeding with that repair. …
