Front end unacceptable! Then defroster didn't work in winter and I had to use my shirt sleeve to keep rubbing the windshield. I told ac collins Ford dealership that something was wrong with the coil springs and brakes when I bought it. I also told them that the ac was leaking in car. I told them that the steering wheel would shake when I was braking. I can send over the emails if you like. Ac collins sold me this car with serious suspension problems. You May have all records of proof. Front suspension coil spring fracture defect investigation for the 2000 Taurus investigation: #pe04044 opened: May 24 2004. NHTSA campaign id # 01V258000 - windshield wiper/washer motor...I have a 2000 Ford Taurus, my windshield wiper motor has stopped working. I remembered that there was a recall on it. When I called the Ford customer service department (and I use that term very loosely), I was told that a Ford dealership has already repaired the recall (don reid Ford). When I explained that the part was never, ever repaired by them...the customer service rep. & her supervisor, said that there was nothing that they could do, because the "records" showed it was repaired in October 2001. My car has never been taken in for this repair to be done. I asked the unhelpful customer service rep (and her supervisor) what my options were, and I was told that I was welcome to take it to any Ford dealer to have the repair done, at my expense...even though the recall has never been repaired. …
1. Wipers did not return to "parked" position at bottom of windshield due to obstruction (freezing precipitation). 2. Intermittent wiper function ceased immediately, 2 weeks later wiper park function failed, on 3/16/07 the wipers failed while in use on i40. My wife, 2 daughters and I had to park the car on the side of i40 for almost 3 hours beginning during rush hour traffic because I could not see through the torrential rains with no windshield wipers. 3. At this point nothing has been done to correct the failures. Ford motor corp. Has stated there is a recall on the windshield wiper system and that although my car falls in the year of the recall, is the correct make and model and also exhibited the exact symptoms listed under the recall, they will not repair the problem.
Windshield wiper hoses defective on Ford 2000 Taurus thin platic hoses cracks and brittle to touch causing washer to leak and obstucting drivers ability to see clearly in winter road salted conditions. I have two Taurus and both hoses have failed after 4 years. Also oil pan gasket have slipped on both vehicles causing oil leaks which if not caught can severly leak oil from engine causing motor to cease.
When the windshield wipers are turned on the only way to turn them off is by turning the car off. Also the intermediete part of the wipers doesn't work since all this started. This has been going on for a couple of months now. I have listed the last day it happened below.
Very poor visibility through windshield especially on humid days. I use my windshield wipers and defroster and still can't see. The car has been like this since new. I've noticed it more since I started working days, it is dangerous driving car on morning commute.
Now the car has 12,ooo miles, I have to wait three weeks to take it back in. This time I have these problems, the power sunroof switch works when it wants to,the power steering started to make noise, has to add fluid, again it makes more noise, last song on cd's stick. This is the iceing on the cake tonight I go to dinner, when I come out, I smelled gasoline when the car started, I thought that maybe it was another car. Went to bbest but, was gone for 25 minutes, came back started car, and again smell of gasoline. I made a appointment to take care in was given daate of sept 6. I will call thurs. I will raise cane. This car has had too many problems. I bought it with 6 miles. Very disappointed
Since May of 2000 there was a problem with the starter system jamming. Consequences of down systems...such as windshield wipers, ABS, traction control, turn signals,A/C and blower. One incident LED to complete shut down of car...dead would not start. Dealer replaced two starters and then one "starter switch'. That failed as well and dealer tried to repair on 9/25/2000 and confessed they could not and that they had conferred with Ford before last two repairs and they said Ford knew of this problem and didn't expect a fix till 4th qtr.. They told me there is no safety issue here and I question that because my car whent into complete shut down of all systems and dealer couldn't even start it.
I have a 2000 Ford Taurus se and my wiper is not working properly I went on the web and notice that Ford had a voluntary recall for my vehicle that came from the chicago plant and was built during that time period but they say my VIN # isn't in the recall so I asked for the part number that was under question because it's not in stone that they couldn't make a mistake with my VIN # or it wouldn't be a recall in the first place, which they could not give me. And what is the actual amount of repairs made to any of these vehicle since the wasn't publicize and how many of us Ford owner was told our VIN number isn't recognize to save their cost.
