I am appauled at the amount of problems with the Ford Taurus that I purchased. I am currently without a car while I wait for the fuse in the radiator to be replaced ( which lead to the fan motor in the radiator and the radiator itself to be replaced as well). The first recall, which was the head gasket, took a total of three monthes to be repaired, three monthes I spent hitching rides. In the letter, each time they have promised me a rental car, and each time, no cars have been available, and if cars are available, they are not allowed to rent one to me because I am a college student who is not twenty one. I am deeply offended at the fact that the Ford motor company can get away with making me pay twelve thousand dollars and I am still left walking on the side of I-75 on the coldest say of the year (head gasket incident). …
Problem with steering was a real issue, after 3 pumps, dlr replaced rack & pump, fixed problem. Wiper issue is infrequent, but scary; when in intermittant mode, the wipers sometimes stop wiping until I rotate the 'wiping speed knob' a few times to off & max. Also sometimes they will not go down after I shut the wipers off, they will stay in the 'wipers on, but not wiping' position about 3 inches above the normal spot until the car dries out. Then, as I am travelling down the road, they will go down fully.
The vehicle had a crack in the windshield. The doors would not lock automatically as they should. The windshield wiper failed intermittently. The dome light failed. The transmission has been replaced twice.
Outer tie rods gone bad at 80,000km speedometer jumps at 60,000km front power windows gone bad at 90,000km I only have 96,000km on my 1995 Ford Taurus se its now 2009.
A stress crack developed in windshield due to a fault in structure. Windshield needs to be replaced. The catalytic converter failed causing rattling noise and was fixed.
When vehicle reaches about 50mph speedometer needle moves and bounces around speedometer. Windshield wiper motor needs to be replaced.
Exterior rear view mirrors are designed mounted to close to the vehicle's doors and are not large enough creating poor visibility. Mjs
The rear view mirror has fallen off twice, on one occasion it fell off while driving, hitting consumer on the shoulder.
While driving, at approx. 45mph experienced windshield wiper failure, when wipers stopped working in rain storm.
