The contact owns a 2022 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at slow speeds and making a left turn, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The vehicle was restarted and worked as designed. The navigation system screen had frozen. While opening the sunroof, the deflector detached. While driving, the brakes was applied without driver input. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the deflector needed to be replaced. The other failures were unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 13,696.
All of the sudden and without any warning, an extremely loud bang followed by extremely loud buzzing and white noise sound comes from the stereo system. The bang sounded like a gun shot in my ear and the buzzing/white sound noise is louder than anything I've ever heard. It nearly caused me to run off the road when it first started and it took my breath away and caused my heart to beat rapidly. I had to immediately pull over and get out of the vehicle as the sound was unbearable. There was no way to turn it down or off. It eventually stopped a few minutes after the vehicle was turned off. I tried to restart it a number of times and the sound immediately started again. After the vehicle sat for a few hours, the vehicle started without issue. My ears rang for 4-5 days after this incident. Safety was put at risk by way of ear damage and nearly crashing the vehicle when it first happened. …
On 02/22/2023 at approximately 7:50pm I entered my vehicle. Started up normally, and pulled out from my parking spot with the stereo OFF. As I turned around I heard a deafening "Boom" followed by what sounded like hail striking my car all over. It scared the hell out of me, and it took a second for me to even process what was happening. I thought I had been hit by another vehicle or...I don't even know what. I was fortunately able to just pull back around in the parking lot, and turn off my vehicle. On restart this was not happing again. I can't emphasize enough how dangerous this could potentially be, if you're driving on the freeway just doing your thing, and all of a sudden you're under audio assault...man I was having PTSD flashbacks. I'm scared to get back in my truck in case it does it again, not to mention transporting my infant son. …
The problem appears to be with the B&O Unleashed audio system, possibly the factory stereo amplifier in my new 2022 F-150 Platinum Powerboost. I was pulling up to a red light intersection, with the audio system off but connected via wireless Apple Carplay, when the audio system produced a deafening noise so loud that I thought I was involved in a major traffic crash. The noise startled me so badly I could have easily lost control of the vehicle. I was shaking for several minutes after the initial deafening noise. The loud noise was followed by an extremely loud crackling sound from the speakers. I tried turning the audio system on/off but it did not respond. The cracking noise continued and I was able to get off the roadway and turned off my vehicle. After I opened the driver's door with the vehicle off, the noise stopped. …
Vehicle B&O Unleashed sound system makes seemingly random BOOMs at full volume (>1000watt system) then a crackling and static sound as well. This is a health risk as my ears hurt 2 days afterward and were ringing no less than 2 hours. This is a safety risk as it seems like gunshots and I was panicked and almost wrecked. Others on forums have wrecked. Here is a description of the "event" this Saturday 5/6/23 Start truck, tiny popping sound, think little of it. Drive about 2 minutes then BOOM BOOM BOOM three speaker max volume blasts, then tweeters start to crackle and give that constant "static" sound. All tweeters continued for minutes. (video in middle of this) I stopped at a light, turned truck off and turned back on... no change sounds continue. Stopped at another light, turned truck off, opened door, then turned back on. …
-The surround sound speaker system has produced a load popping sound as if being struck by lightning on several occasions upon starting the truck. It is extremely loud and normally goes away after a few seconds. The most recent incident occurred while I was driving and did not stop for several minutes. It is as if the radio is turned to it's highest volume and produces an electrical static sound. I had to return to my home and shut the truck off to stop the sound. I restarted the truck twice and the sound started again each time. -This is a tremendous saftey issue as the shock of the sound is very frightening and could cause someone to lose control of the truck. In addition, the sound is so loud that I was unable to hear any outside sounds or sirens. It could cause hearing damage as well. …
2022 Ford F150, PowerBoost, Platinum, 9100 miles, Bang and Olufson 18 speaker stereo system. Got in the truck today and turned the truck on and instantly heard very loud, "electric crackling" noise. It took a few seconds to realize the noise was coming out of the speakers. I was not able to turn the noise off, with radio power button or by turning the truck off. I was perplexed, so I started a to record a video, (which I have). After another short period of time, 60 seconds? I realized the noise was only coming from the A Pillar tweeters and rear door speakers. I switched from SURROUND to STEREO and the noise finally turned off. My wife was afraid to ride home with me but we did with no issue after that (approximately 7 miles. I am reading on other Ford F150 website, this is a pretty common issue, that Ford has not been able to track down as of yet. Very scary. …
This horrifyingly loud rhythmic noise came out of my speakers yesterday. I have a F-150 Platinum with B&O Stereo system. My ears felt like they were bleeding and I actually experienced pain due to how loud the noise was. It happened when my truck was parked and I went to start it and the deafening noise hit. No matter what I did, turned the volume down, radio power off, turned the truck ignition off - it still made the noise. I also smelled a very strong burning smell that smelled like burning wires or transmission fluid. I have a video of it. I walked away to call Ford service and came back in about 5 minutes and the noise had stopped. When I opened the drive door, the noise started up again. I left and came back again and noise had stopped and didn't start up again. Had it towed to the dealer who said they had never heard of this before. …
I am having multiple electrical glitches with the vehicle. While I was in bluecruise the self driving mode the vehicle warned me to take control and when I did the vehicle was stuck in a loop on the highway with notifications alarms. I was able to take a video one of the times. I took it to the ford dealer and they said they needed me to bring it back when an engineer was available. While waiting to go back had another serious issue with the head unit/audio system when I started up the vehicle. Ear damaging sounds came on and I lost control of the head unit. Shut the truck off and turned it back on and the ear piercing noises persisted. I made a video of this too. My head unit randomly reboots while driving the vehicle. Went back to ford and they did an update instead of having engineers diagnose the problem. Audio system still doesn't work right and I think it is damaged from the event.
I remote started the vehicle, when inside the vehicle I pressed the start button. Directly after pressing the start button, a very loud pop followed by static played through the speakers. I was not able to turn the audio volume down or off. I was forced to drive home while the loud static noise continued to play through the speakers. When I arrived home about 25 minutes later, I was able to disconnect the vehicles battery to stop the static playing. I also noticed a burnt electrical smell inside the vehicle but could not identify where specifically the smell was coming from. The following day, the issue seamed to be resolved but the audio quality appeared to be diminished. The subwoofer is no longer working as a result of this audio issue. This would have been very dangerous had I been driving when the problem started and if I had my young child in the vehicle.
