Driving along highway and all of a sudden truck starts to fishtail out of control from the rear, causing me to go into the ditch in one side of the highway then coming out to go across the interstate then Land in the median ditch. Fortunately I hit no one and no one was injured except scaring me till I don't like driving much anymore. The damages were minor loss of the inserts to the locked rims which were brocken off.
Tl* the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the driver side tie rod was worn prematurely, which caused the tires to be worn. In addition, three security locks and the studs and bolts fractured on the front driver side tire without warning. The suspension on the driver and passenger side tires was unstable and the steering wheel was extremely loose. The contact also indicated that the wheels were locking in the rear, which indicated a drive train failure because the bolts also fractured in the rear. The vehicle was taken to three different dealers for inspection and diagnostic testing. The contact was provided with conflicting information from the dealers and was waiting to determine how the manufacturer was going to remedy the failure. …
Yesterday, the Front Right Wheel completely separated from the axel while driving 25 mph. The truck veered sharply to the right, crashing into the driver's side of a fortunately unoccupied parked car, and continued to the right into the curb. I was not seriously injured, though my neck was strained. The tire and rim were destroyed, and it appears that the metal attachment from the wheel to the car was completely sheared through. There was also extensive Front End damage. Had I made it another mile to the parkway, this would have been a fatal injury to me, as well as other drivers. The truck was just inspected 2 days prior to this occurrence by a Certified Dodge Ram Dealer (NY Facility #[redacted]) with a clean health record. It is currently at the North Star Auto Body [phone]) awaiting inspection by the Allstate Insurance adjuster (Claim # [redacted]). A police report was also filed. …
The contact owns a 2011 Ram 1500 equipped with Goodyear Tires, Tire Line: Wrangler AT Adventure, Tire Size: 265/70/R17, DOT Number: PL1YJC1R0219. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the TPMS warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the tires were diagnosed with tread separation. The contact was informed that all 4 tires needed to be replaced. The tires were replacement tires. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The tire failure mileage was approximately 15,000. The vehicle failure mileage was unknown.
Me and my husband were driving down the road to go see a friend and all of a sudden the wheel hub assembly broke in half causing us to have to slam on our brakes and keep from crashing. The wheel almost ended up under our truck making the truck look like it was kachowing like Lightening McQueen from the movie Cars
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Ram 1500. While driving 62 MPH, the rear of the vehicle spun out of control and crashed into a barricade. There were no injuries. There was no warning indicator. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure was unable to be replicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 180,000. The VIN was unavailable.
On my 2009 Dodge Ram truck the low tire pressure valve sensors are secured to the wheel with a retaining nut. The valve stem on the low tire pressure sensor has threads that go threw the wheels and then secure with that retaining nut. The retaining nut was made out of ether aluminum or inferior metal. During last years extreme cold weather moisture got between the treads and the retaining nut. The retaining nut on the low tire pressure sensor on the left front wheel of my 2009 Dodge Ram cracked from the moisture and cold weather. When the nut cracked the low pressure sensor fell off inside of the tire, which cause the left front tire to start to go flat. After the low tire pressure sensor fell off it was driven threw the tire before I could apply the brakes. That accelerated the tire going flat and loss of control of the vehicle. …
I was driving my truck to work one morning. I was traveling at a steady speed of 70mph in a straight stretch. All of the sudden my steering wheel started to wobble and I had the low tire pressure warning light on my dash. After no more than 2 seconds the truck pulled extremely hard to the right. I knew that I had a flat tire. After attempting to safely pull off and avoid the tractor trailer from slamming into me I was able to pull over. After inspecting the tire, I noticed that I didn't have a valve stem in my front passenger tire. I attempted to change the tire on the side of the road in the rain but broke the cheap lug wrench that is supplied with the vehicle. Apparently the dealership over torqued the lug nuts. I had to get a ride to work, being 1.5 hours late and leave my truck on the interstate all day. My father in law works for a tire and lube center. …
