The headlights on my car started flashing almost every time I turn them on, and this is forcing me to not be able to drive at night. It started with a flash on 12/2/2014, and now it occurs every time I drive the vehicle. I have been told that it could be anything in the front end causing a short and have checked for recalls but this is not a determined recall at this time. The dealership has been no help and wants to charge extra money just to look at it. Considering I have seen many other drivers with the same make/ model/ year vehicle in car forums and blogs regarding this very same issue, I'm hoping this report will help push for an investigation as I have to drive for my employment and do not want to get a traffic ticket for faulty equipment.
" Takata recall" bought my 2006 Dodge Charger last March had it for 3 days the engine blew. Replaced the engine with a v6 2008 2.7 with only 57000 . About 6 months after started to get the lightning bolt .then stalling with the lightning bolt while driving 55mph on the highway and in the city it also does it at stop signs and sometimes wont start back right away.. I have no codes no check engine light no warning. My dash lights and head lights flicker especially while driving. We tried everything to fix this I'm very scared to drive my car anywheres.. Please help figure out whats going on with these problems. We already replaced the computer, gas pedal, sensors and the engine. Mileage on the body 260000 on the second engine 63000.
My car's engine stalls without warning while driving. I had problems with this when I bought the car within the same week from a used car dealer. It now affects my headlights by making them flash on and off while driving. The car has been in and out of the shop for the past year and no one can seem to find the issue. There is a past time device installed which interfered with the security system. The dealership took out the security system and shortly thereafter the engine stalls began. Engine stalls occur while driving or stopped at traffic lights. It happens randomly but not often. The headlights happen everyday and is getting worse. The vehicle is becoming undrivable but no service tech can find the issue.
While driving, all the lights on the dashboard light up simultaneously and then go dark (all of them). At the same time, all the gauges drop to zero, bounce to their max and then drop to a null state again. After this blinking event happens a few times, all of the monitoring systems and gauges return to a working state. When this happens, it does not seem to affect the driveability of the car (brakes, trans, etc. All still function). The first time it happened, it caused great concern for safety, as well as significant distraction while under way. The original date and mileage are estimated.
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the fog lights failed to illuminate while driving at night. The lights came back on, but continued to fail. The contact had to drive the rest of the way home using only the fog lights. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The contact repaired the vehicle on his own. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was 83,000.
There is something going on with the electrical system which causes the instrument cluster to completely shut down and lights to flicker when driving. Usually happens when car heater is on or driving for a long period of time. I have a video of the issue and showed it to cerritos Dodge service department but they didnt acknowledge issue.
While driving the car will cut off . The lights have flickered off and on. The room needle goes down likes is cutting off and then goes back up. I have the Charger 2006 rt police package. This has happen while driving, turning at corner, and sitting at the light. These issues have been going on for the last 6 months.
Theres seems to be a short in the electrical system which cause the instrument cluster to completely shut down and light to flicker when driving. Usually happens when car heater is on or driving for a long period of time. Dealer will not acknowledge issue very known problem on the internet boards with Charger owners.
Head lights flash while driving then shut off then come back on. As I down shifted on the freeway the car died and check engine light came on now I'm stuck with a broke down car. It shifted really hard and died at the same time the check engine came on
I am about to file a lemon law complaint because Dodge has been "unable to duplicate" the most serious problems that have plagued my vehicle, a 2006 Dodge Charger r/t, since day four of my ownership. I have owned this car for 68 days and of those, I have only been able to drive the functioning car for 19 days. They have fixed a number of minor issues and notified me that they would be unable to fix or do not know how to fix at this time, some minor issues including the air conditioning compressor problems (which they say they have also been "unable to duplicate". The serious issues that are occurring when it idles, when it accelerates and with what seems to be the suspension and possibly both the engine and transmission. …
