Our family is a second generation consumer of the Chrysler coporation's products. This vehicle has proven such a lemon, we really doubt that we will ever buy another chrylser/Dodge product. Within a month of our purchase, we had a recall on the liftgate latch, that was fixed. We are currently having our transmission inspected by a licensed Chrysler dealer, and will submit to the corporation. We have had the seat belts not retract on the driver's and passengers side for years, which catch in the doors constantly. The power windows in the rear had a motor go out, the universal joint fell off while the car was sitting in the drive, and the most ungodly act was when someone was closing the sliding passenger door, and it totally slid off the car. Luckily, no one was injured. …
Brakes over heat, rotors on front wheels crack and break. Cost of repair/replacement is $200 to 450. Rear window has shattered 3 times when the weather is hot, and car siting in sun. You get in and close (not slam) the door and the window just shatters in to tiny pieces. Cost of replacement $795. These seem to be design defects. Many people seem to have my problem.
Had received recall notice #99V113000. Contacted dealer. Informed the air bags could be repaired, but had no parts for windshield wipers. They were on back order & did not know when they will be available. Took vehicle on date given & had air bags repaired. Waiting on parts for the windshield wipers.
While sitting at a red light with the air conditioner on, all windows in the van closed, the back window blew out. The manufacturer stated that the window could not be replaced under warranty. The van is sitting in owner's gargage at this time.
Received notice #99V113000 in the mail. Contacted dealer to set appointment. Was informed that parts were not available for the rear wiper motor. This problem can cause the air bag light to remain on constantly while driving vehicle.
While driving, drivers side windshield wiper stopped working. Took vehicle to dealer and parts were not available, consumer has been waiting for parts since April 29,2002. Consumer felt this was very unsafe.
Windshield wipers, most of the time, will not operate, and when operating will quit working. Had contacted dealer, and they said problem was with pivot, that had to be replaced. Please provide more infomation.
I have owned this vehicle since new. I have had the oil changed and tire rotated as instructed by the manufacturer. I believe the tires should have lasted longer than 28,[redacted] miles and the battery beyond 36,[redacted] miles. In thirty years of driving I have never experienced so many failures with a vehicle. The drawer under the passenger has never close, the vinyl fabric that wraps around the drivers seat is torn due to cracking, not abuse. The horn has repeatedly failed. The vehicle is now started to rust. I have had what I refer to as a light show on the interior of the vehicle. The interior lights just flash on and off for no apparent reason. When this occurs, bells chime as well. This will occur for days at a time and then cease. The paint on the front of the vehicle, below the headlights at the base of the bumper is flaking off. …
Air bag light came on and stayed on when I turned on the rear wiper and the rear wiper motor froze.
Air bag light which illuminated on dashboard blew out three fuses and caused the windshield wipers to malfunction. Consumer has contacted the dealer. Please provide any further details.
