Our family is a second generation consumer of the Chrysler coporation's products. This vehicle has proven such a lemon, we really doubt that we will ever buy another chrylser/Dodge product. Within a month of our purchase, we had a recall on the liftgate latch, that was fixed. We are currently having our transmission inspected by a licensed Chrysler dealer, and will submit to the corporation. We have had the seat belts not retract on the driver's and passengers side for years, which catch in the doors constantly. The power windows in the rear had a motor go out, the universal joint fell off while the car was sitting in the drive, and the most ungodly act was when someone was closing the sliding passenger door, and it totally slid off the car. Luckily, no one was injured. …
Drain hose from air conditioner into engine compartment collapsed and plugged. Caused water to back up into interior and splash onto pedals and computer behind center console. Symptoms included the "check engine" light activated, windshield wipers operating unexpectedly when switch in "off" position and (you guessed it) wet feet. Solution, cut a little off the free end of the hose. The air cleaner housing must be removed to do this. Since the water is now draining properly, the symtoms have gone. If the water had continued to back up onto the computer and wiring, I suppose complete failure of the electronics would have resulted.
First, we were running the A/C on the highway for about 15 minutes and when we got off onto another freeway and stopped for a traffic signal the engine stalled. Every time we stopped it failed again. Then the A/C also caused the check engine light to come on on the interstate at 65 MPH and remain on, we took to a repair shop and the diagnostic showed a bad EGR valve. Then the rear liftgate support has broken causing the liftgate to fall onto a person and caused injury to the head.
Please investigate - Chrysler has agreed to pay for repairs only on select models. Why? My van was only 3 1/2 years old, everything was rusted. I paid over $1,000.00 for something, that I'm sure is a factory defect. Please get them to acknowledge that other models need to be included. Thank you very much. :). No safety defect mentioned.
Evaporator has a hole, causing freon to leak out. This is a year old problem has progressed from refilling every 3 weeks to every 2-3 days. Part was replaced but not by dealership, and dealer was notified. New evaporator was installed by a certified Dodge dealer. Consumer feels freon leaking could cause a health hazard.
The A/C system for evaporator cord had failed a year ago and was repaired, now again the A/C system was not working due to compressor failure. The consumer wants the manufacturer to reimburse him for the repairs because the repairs were unusual and shows the vehicle lack of quality.
While braking vehicle would stall which May cause a crash. Dealer performed a tune up and problem has not reoccurred. Also noises in the steering column and the braking system, and dealer changed 3 times air conditioner: evaporator please provide further information.
Ventilation system has rodents insid., when air conditioner /vent or heater are on, everyone in car gets sick when riding. Dealer contacted and aware of problem. No repairwork has been done. Problem still exists. Provide further information.
Dealership service dept. Doesn't want to honor extended warranty (7yr./70,000mile) or makes sure you have no choice but to keep bringing the vehicle back to them for repairs.
Failed transmission/replaced A/C evaporator and now compressor - totalling $4,000.00 - how does Chrysler stay in business? Please take action for us, they are no help!
