Driving and car cuts off without warning. Could be going 35 mph could be going 65 mph. Have to shift to N to cut car back on. Sometimes it won't cut back on. I pressed gas after light turned green in a busy intersection and car cut off in middle of intersection. This has happened in more than one occasion and almost caused many accidents. Throws code for crankshaft position sensor. It has been replaced and still not helping. Also replaced throttle body position sensor. This is happening with A LOT of these vehicles. All online forums talk of the same problem. Don't know if it's the computer itself because the check engine light rarely comes in when this happens. Then it throws random codes.

My 2014 Dodge Avenger has a faulty TIPM. This has caused my car to lose all electrical power including engine stalling, lack of power steering, and no lights while driving down a busy highway at night. This happened several times. Once it happened while I was turning through a busy intersection! Now it has caused my wipers to stop working! This is and has been a safety hazard. Chrysler has known about this and has tried to ignore, deny, even cover it up since before 2008. Hundreds of thousands of owners have been dangerously affected by this. I don't know why this hasn't been front page news! As an uber and lyft driver I can't make a living now because of this. Chrysler has already been sued over this and need to be continued to be held accountable. They have given no effort to recall all of the affected vehicles yet, only a few models that were heavily mentioned in the lawsuit. …
I have a 2014 Dodge Avenger and on October 17 I fueled at the station and proceeded to travel on my way home. When I stopped at the light my son and his friend were talking. The light changed and I tried to go the car wouldn't go. It had shut itself off. Prior to this my son and I were going down the interstate and we could here a screeching whistling sound coming from the front of the car. Later that day the radio changed stations by itself. The changing of the station happened again on October 18 with me and my wife in the car. This prompted me to look into the recall factor and I found more complaints of the same type. If there is a problem someone needs to address it now before there is an accident and someone gets seriously hurt or dies. …
There has been a loud whistling/squealing noise coming from the left front end of the car since 1/5/15 and has not been able to be repaired. Also I was driving and in the process of making a left hand turn into a parking lot my car shut itself off in the middle of the turn. An accident almost occurred because of this. Transitowne dealership in williamsville ny is giving me a hard time fixing my car since I did not buy it from them and since they could not diagnose a problem on 3/24/15 they didn't feel the need to look it over again until I mentioned the phase I'm calling my lawyer and they will be in touch and they had a change of heart then. Please help before someone gets hurt with this car it is a death trap.
Shifting has become a major issue have to use a pen or knife to put pressure on a switch to shift out of park. Was told by local Dodge dealer it is a issue with the challenger but not this model. They are the same shifter. Also the light that illuminates the shifter started to catch fire but I was able remove before fire ignited. I saw the smoke and smelled electrical burning. Luckily that started right before I went to struggle and put in drive. To even get it to losses up to drive you almost have to slam the shifter up and down rapidly and somewhat rough to even loosen it up to give a week or 2 of it not causing problems. Was told by local dealer not covered under warranty and it would be around 800 to fix.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Avenger. The contact stated that the vent control function was not working properly when attempting to heat the vehicle. Crystal Chrysler Dodge Jeep of brooksville (14358 cortez blvd, brooksville, fl 34613, [phone]) stated that fluids leaked into the radiator during vehicle production, which caused debris around the heater core. The dealer indicated that the vehicle would not be repaired under warranty and further testing was required. Additionally, the heater core needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.
The car engines lights came on while driving the electric throttle body light and ecs lights came on. The car is losing oil and overheating while driving. I took the car to a shop and they found an oil leak but don't know exactly where the oil leak is coming from. Oil is spilling all over the transmission. I contacted Dodge since the car has 89,000 miles on it and they ignored the problem. The car sputters in the middle of intersection it drives at 2000 rpms without gas pedal being press. The brakes depress on their own. Why is there no investigation done on these Dodge avengers. Do someone have to lose their life in order to fix these issues?
