While traveling down hill in my neighborhood at approximately 15-20mph my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country shut down. I did not notice if any check engine lights came in because I was just focused on not hitting anything or dying. However I did notice that the gas hand said it was on e, the speedometer said 0, and the temperature gage was at the coolest setting. The breaks stoped working completely and the steering wheel was very hard to turn. If it had not been for the speed bumps in my are hood I would have wrecked for sure. Thankfully I didn't and inwas able to slowy make the turn (with a lot of effort) I needed to at the end of the hill. The headlights and the radio did work the entire time. Once I was able to stop the van completely I turned the key to the off position and restated it. It did start on the 1st try and I was able to make it home (less then 1 mile away). …
Having trouble with ABS light coming on and off. Replaced ABS sensor, charging system failed, replaced alternator. Driving at freeway speed when traffic stopped. Brake the vehicle, the anti lock braking failed and the brakes locked up causing a skid and was unable to stop and hit the car in front of me. Vehicle was repaired and returned to the road, ABS lights continue to go on and off. Took the vehicle to my repair shop and they say that the rear speed sensor is coding for the left side. Repair shop advised that TSB information is known. TSB information: there are known software conflicts on this vehicle which May set the incorrect trouble code and also May show incorrect scan data. Service bulletin # 05-003-07 group: brakes date: June 13, 2007 this TSB is for Chrysler pacifica 2205-2006. My Chrysler t&c has the same sales code (bgf) as the pacifica. …
November cold morning van back brake driver side locked up moved van back and forward wheel freed up. December on cold morning back brake locked up. Again moved van back and forward wheel freed up. June 9 2006 van went into a 30 MPH curve brakes were applied but van speed increased sending van into spin and ran into trees. Van did 360 degree spin and stopped then airbags deployed after van stopped. Injuries were a broken left wrist and broken breast bone a broken neck at first vertebrae and broken middle back bone. Upon merging back onto the highway consumer over corrected the steering wheel. To rectify this problem the consumer depressed the brake pedal and turned into the skid. The brakes locked up and the truck crashed into a mountain head on, then rolled over twice. None of the trucks air bags deployed upon impact. The truck sustained severe frontal damage and the windows busted out, except for the front windshield, and the driver and passenger side window. The driver didn't sustain any injuries. The cause of the brakes locking up and the non deployment of the air bag has yet to be determined.
I just picked up the car after getting recall r03 performed at fowler Dodge in oklahoma city. I had never had the problem that was stated in the recall but was advised to get it fixed anyway. On my way home from the dealership on 07/27/15 at approx. 1800 hrs. I hit a bump and the key fob went to the off position leaving me with out power steering , brakes, and engine. That is what the recall was suspose to fix. The one problem I had never had with the vehicle, now I am having it after the recall.
On 01\29\2020, the ABS, brake, and traction control warning lights displayed on the dash. Now into winter, the vehicle no longer has traction control and ABS. Diagnostics reveal that the ABS module has proper powers and grounds even under load. So far, the only problem is the ABS module has a problem with communication, diagnosed at the local independent repair shop. So far the vehicle is not repaired, and continues to be operated with the ABS and traction control out of operation.
Tl contact owns a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country. The break warning indicator lost pressure; therefore, the warning light did not indicate that there was a failure and caused the driver to crash. There were no injuries. A police report was filed. The dealer replaced the break calipers and the master cylinder. A complaint was filed with the manufacturer and the contact is expecting a return call within four days. The failure mileage was 33,000 and the current mileage was 34,000.
Vehicle brakes and steering stopped responding while vehicle was in motion. This lead to crash with a steel gate in an elementary school. Chrysler replaced a defective fuel pump but denies any problem with brakes/steering or any correlation between fuel pump problem and failure of brakes/steering. This is an update on my earlier odi 10152826 to include repair details and manufacturer/dealer response on this critical safety issue.
ABS and traction control failure. At 37,000 miles my ABS and traction control lights came on. I took it to the dealer and they would not do anything because it was out of warranty. I called Chrysler and they told me the same thing. Also my service engine soon light came on and was told it is my EGR valve. My brakes failed and hit my mustang with the van. Still they would do nothing about it.
I had an accident at 45 MPH, and the air bags did not deploy. Chrysler is saying there is nothing wrong with the vehicle. Phone intervew update (oct 25, 05): verified that there were no fatalities. T-boned another vehicle at the rear quarter panel at 45 MPH and none of the air bag deployed.
