Selected complaints filed with NHTSA by 2006 Chrysler 300C owners, lightly cleaned up (personal details are redacted by NHTSA).
Depressed accelerator pedal lightly to proceed through an intersection.roughly 10 MPH into the acceleration the vehicle suddenly without warning accelerated on its own through the next intersection causing a 3 car accident and 4 people injured.all vehicles involved were disabling damage with mine being the worst, total loss.air bags did not deploy causing injury to passenger and I resulting in seizures to passenger from head trauma.this defect of the vehicle has caused a major financial burden on me and my family from the date of accident and well into the future with my insurance rates since I have been deemed at faullt due to car accelerating instead of allowing me to stop.
Vehicle stalls in the middle of the road for no apparent reason. Vehicle stalled initially while driving 45 MPH and I lost power steering and had to pull over to the side of the road to restart it. Dealer had vehicle for over 6 months and could not solve the stalling issue. Vehicle currently stalls while sitting at lights etc. Has not stalled lately while driving dealer finally released vehicle to me and basically said there was nothing more they could do as it was a manufacture issue.
This has happened at least 3 times in the last 2 years. I would fill up with fuel and after leaving the gas station the vehicle would stall causing me to lose power steering and brakes and having to stop in the middle of traffic. I received a alert from Chrysler last year but have misplaced the letter. It stated that if I experienced this problem that I should take it to a dealer and they would replace the gas tank.
Filled up with gas. While driving 30 MPH car stalled going down a hill and brakes became rigid. To try to avoid crashing into other vehicle I went over a sidewalk. Tire broke, hit a tree and had to shut off car to stop car as brakes were not stopping the car. Then I ended damage another vehicle because of busy traffic. This all happened because the car stopped less than 5 minutes after refueling.
My Chrysler 330 when filling up gas tank ,shuts off frequently when driving..I have no brakes, power steering,& engine shutoff..I was able to pull off highway & roads w/ luck 7 not causing any accidents..I think NHTSA # on this issue is-pe-13016..it is a dangerous situation that I hope gets corrected asap..thx for your help...this happen 3 plus times...
Tl* the contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300c. The contact could not shift the vehicle out of the park position. The contact notified the manufacturer. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the brake inner lock return spring hook fractured. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 130,000.
Transmission shifter interlock lever is faulty. A broken interlock return spring hook will result in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of the ?park? Position. Chrysler issued letter to some customers. Here the link to the letter : http://www.Chrysler.com/webselfservice/pdf/k39.pdf problem is they issued a recommend free repairs to some owners that might have a problem for there 2006 300c car but why cant they offer free repairs to everyone with same model cars and have the same problem. Also when you go to the dealership to buy the part to repair, you are put on a waiting list because the parts not in stock because of all the people that need to get there cars work on. My car was not able to shift and was stuck in park 2 hours waiting for a tow truck that can tow my car home. …
Within the first 300 miles the inside of all four brake rotors started to show premature scoring and grooves also a grinding noise and brake pedal pulsing would occur when the brakes would be applied. It has gotten a lot worse and there is less then 3,000 miles on the car. In spite of a Chrysler service bulletin #05-006-06 titled "front and/or rear brake rotors grooved/scored" Chrysler motors service would not do any thing except turn my rotors on a lathe at a cost to me of $200.00 dollars. I was informed by Chrysler motors service that my problem would re-occur in a short period of time and it is a common problem with all Chrysler 300c srt-8, Dodge charger srt-8 and Dodge magnum srt-8 and Jeep grand cherokee srt-8. All of these vehicles are equipped with "brembo" brakes. There is definitely some sort of a defect with this brake system. …
After refueling tank I drove away from the pumps and onto the roadway, during acceleration to speed limit (50mph), at 25mph the engine stalled, with traffic quickly approaching I might add, and left me coasting. I was able to pull off to the side of the road thankfully, at which time I had to attempt a restart 3 times before it did start, when it started I had no issues for a few months. This exact situation happened to me every other month for a year until I learned to not fuel the vehicle to the top. It is a considerable inconvenience to not be able to fill the car to its capacity, especially on long trips. I am just afraid that this will happen, at any time, with no warning, quite an uncomfortable feeling actually. I hope for a satisfactory resolution to this issue. Thank you.
Since last March my Chrysler 300c srt8 2006 is turning off the engine while in movement. I noticed the problem always happen when the fuel tank is full or around 3/4. It's a very serious problem because I almost crashed the car many times considering that when the engine turns off the steering gets heavy and the brakes doesn't work properly. Now I'm not confident to put my family in the car because I am afraid to have a collision and hurt myself and my family. I made a research at the internet and I realized that a lot of 300c owners have the same problem that it's called as engine stall. Now I want Chrysler to help me to solve this matter considering it already happened several times and it's very dangerous to drive the car with this defective.
