[redacted] 2021, Purchased 4 tires Walmart, Radar Dimax AS-8 size: 225/60R16. June 2023 tire badly separated. Denied warranty because Walmart did not install. Purchase 2 more identical tires and picked up [redacted] 2023 and installed both. Bad tire trashed no longer have in possession. Several months later had another tire separate so installed the extra tire I had. In March 2024 the wife told me the van was shaking again. Found two tires separating. One was from the newer purchase. Tried calling the Manufacture numerous times [phone] to let them know of the problems with their tires and possible safety. Received no responses. I have never in my life had tires like the separate. Had a couple trailer tires years ago but probable heavy load and older tires, so expected. …
While driving my 2004 Chevy Venture van north on I-95, a mile north of the exit for fl hwy 100, at 70 MPH, the entire tread separated totally from the left rear tire, causing $610 damage to the rear bumper. All four tires were on the van when I bought it new from the Chevy dealer in feb, 2004. The van had been on the dealer lot since sep, 2003. All the tires on the van were Firestone fr680 steel belted radial p215/70r15 with 43,165 miles on them. There was lots of tread left on the tires. Firestone said there was no recall on these tires and would do nothing. I had all four tires replaced the next day. The new tires were not Firestone.
Firestone tires fr680, 215/70r15. Replaced the tires on the front of my vehicle at 25,000 miles due to severe flat spotting & steel chords showing. Rear tires fine. Chevy dealer confirmed no wheel alignment issues exist. The tires are defective and should be recalled, and should not be used as OEM on Chevy vehicles going forward. My front tires have been replaced with Michelin with no wear issues, and no repairs being made in regards to alignments, etc.
Problems with steering on 2003 Chevrolet Venture. The steering became loose. The service dealer found the pump pressure was below specifications and called GM. GM recommended replacing the pump and gear assembly which was supposedly done. The problem did not improve the situation. GM refused to help the consumer. Also during routine maintenance, a tire was found with a bulge.
Verland is an icf/mr facility in sewickley pa. We use our vehicles daily to transport our clients to their programs, dr's. Appts, etc. We purchased a 2002 Chevrolet Venture Mini van in November 2001. The same van has had 3 instances where the wheel studs have broken and the front tire has come loose. Our staff has noticed the problem and gotten off of the road before any accident has happened. We have contacted Chevrolet as well as the selling dealer and they refuse to acknowledge that this is a problem with the van and they have put the blame on us. The latest failure was on 12/10/02 and a tow truck was called to tow the van to a Chevrolet dealer. The tow truck driver commented that he had never seen this problem occur on any vehicle, let alone a new van, and he was an impartial observer to the problem. …
Heard pieces of tread hitting car.tread separated at 65 MPH just before complete failure. Able to steer to side on rim. Original equip with 35500 miles on 2002 Chevy Venture. On inspection other 3 tires close to failure.
Other part affected is the jack this style van rusts thru in front of the rear wheel well where the jack is supposed to be placed to replace the spare tire. There is no longer any structural support resulting in a dangerous condition where the van can fall off the jack if you attempt to put the spare tire on. As a matter of fact my Chevrolet dealer, at about 170,000 miles, crushed the whole area of my car while they put it on a lift to replace my transmission lines. I can never safely put the jack at that location. That is what alerted me to the problem whereas the rust was there very early in the life of the van!
While traveling on highway at 70 MPH we had a sidewall blow out on the right rear tire. Firestone fr680 p215/70r15 tires were installed on April 29, 2003 and had less than 5,000 miles at time of blow out. Checked tire pressure previous Saturday and all were OK. Also checked tire pressure on other 3 tires after blow out and all were OK. The incident occurred at 10:00 p.m. While driving on I-75 north down a 4% grade. Fortunately we didn't have an accident. We had our four kids in the car ages 10 and under. Needless to say we don't feel very safe driving on these tires.
