What owners report
Water in headlights. Taken back to dealership once already. Water accumulated again. Tail lights were stuck. Only one turn signal would blink, which would cause everything on the dashboard to blink and the radio reading to blink. - diagnosis was the hazard light switch on top of the steering column. Replaced. Upon purchase and driving - a slight hesitation was noticed when accelerating. The dealership said it was the way chevys' change gears. The hesitation is getting worse (possible transmission problems)
Dt: the contact owns a 2005 Chevy Venture with 7 passenger seating. The contact stated that the air conditioning was not working . The fuel gauge worked erratically. . One minute it will show full and the next empty. Also havedproblems with the temperature gauge, they corrected that problem. The dash cluster, A/C pumps, and the A/C valve has been replaced and still not corrected the problems. You can be driving down the road the A/C will be cooling and then all of a sudden it will blow out hot air. Brakes were making a squealing noise. The van only has less than 10,000 miles. The dealership has been doing everything that the service representative iwas telling him to do. The service managerfrom GM told the service manager at the dealership to replace the throttle body to fix the A/C and that has nothing to do with the air conditioner. …
My wife took her Chevrolet van in for service due to the interior light not functioning it was taken to mahoney Chevrolet and blossom Chevrolet. They told her it was corrosion causing the problem and did nothing to repair the problem as they said it was not covered. I being a certified mechanic and having an associates degree in electronics trouble shot the problem and found the body control module to be the cause of the problem. The module also caused the power windows, door locks, remotes and all other interior things to fail. I feel this is a very serious safety issue as there are millions of these vans on the road and these modules fail on this and all other models of this van such as the Pontiac etc... …
I have a 2003 Chevy Venture and when I purchased it, I noticed that the turn signals would start blinking real fast on the dash. When I would look at them on the outside they were blinking fine, as was the dash lights. This happened several times, so I thought that it was just the bulbs themselves. Then on March 29, 2014, I noticed a little puff of smoke come from the headlight area when my wife pulled into our driveway. I also noticed that the passenger side turn/parking light was out. I luckily had a bulb from another car to replace it, but when I took the assembly out and went to turn the connector to replace the bulb, and noticed it was hot. Thinking that something did not seem right, I let it cool down and then removed it. What I saw was the connector that holds the bulb was black and melted. It actually melted to the bulb itself. …
The buttons for my control dash where radio and heat adjustment are, the panel,. Gets blazing hot to the touch. Everytime we drive it. It's overheating so much I am concerned it wasn't fixed by a recall previously claimed. The buttons decals have melted off on some buttons. This happens when the car is on. I recently purchased this van privately in illinois.
Sylvania bulb in the rear brake light socket on passenger side failed. When I went to replace the bulb I found the bulb and socket had melted. Replaced the bulb into the burnt socket and it is now working. My concern is that no fuse blew and why did this socket melt and burn? Vehicle is a 2002 Chevrolet, veture VIN number 1gndx03e92d22013. I have several photos of the failed bulb denoting the damage that occured from the heat. Contacted the dealer and he said I could pay him $70.00 to do an electrical diagnosic check. Have also written to GM about it.
I was pulled over do to no rear brake light or turn signal on left side. Got a ticket. Went to junk yard bought replacement only to discover it was also burned out and useless !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been through at least 50 bulbs in the last year alone. I am second owner. Also have another electrical issue as in the switch above in between front seats that control inside lighting. It must stay in the off position or it runs the battery completely down. Also the side door gets stuck in the open position and it takes a lot of strength to close it.
I was told it had intermittent rear lighting problem (driver side rear lights would go in and out) when purchasing vehicle used in 2012 with160,000 miles, 90% highway. Had repaired immediately for safety, legal and state required annual inspections (or so I thought). Within 3 months/75 miles later, it started again. Entire wiring harness and light assembly was replaced, to no avail. Before I could take it in again, both rear lights intermittently stopped working. Passenger side wiring harness and light assembly replaced. It wasn't fixed.and before I could get it back in the shop, the front passenger side lights started the same thing. New mechanic assures me, " don't worry, there are many things I can try!" little consolation for the drivers behind me or for me from being pulled over by & ticketed or when I need the va state mandatory "annual inspection" sticker. …
