Had this car about a year and then the problems started to show up. My ABS/traction control started to show up on my dash board and then go away. This has happened roughly 4-5 times but never thought to get it checked out. On 4-2-2015 is when the problems showed its ugly head. My brakes started acting up, front passenger side caliper started sticking and brakes not fully engaging to stop the car unless hit again in rapped braking. I bought over 400 dollars in replacements (calipers, pads as well as rotors) to have the issue resolved. Everything was fine until 4-5-2015 when I put my kids into the car and attempted to start it. My brake pedal froze up wouldn't fully engage and all 4 of my brakes froze up. Had to get the car towed home to have a closer look at the damage. …
We have been having an issue intermittently where the "service stability system" message flashes on the message panel. When this happens our brakes lock up at the same time. This is an extremely scary situation when driving on the interstate or in heavy traffic. We have taken this vehicle in to the dealer to have this checked and they were not able to replicate the issue, therefore we were advised nothing was wrong. I feel that this is a huge safety issue with the number of complaints that have been filed on this issue alone, and I think this warrants a recall on this vehicle because the brakes locking up at inopportune and unexpected times will surely cost lives at some point. …
2007 Chevy Uplander lt speed and ABS sensor on front passenger and driver side completely torn off. I thought it might be associated with a wreck I was involved in so I took it to a GM dealer for inspection. I was told that the loss of sensors could not be related to accident. This is not a result of normal wear and tear or a maintenance issue. This results in failure of ABS system. Danger is posed when a sudden stop is required to avoid a collision or driving in icy conditions. I had the vehicle evaluated on 3/10/2009 and repaired on 3/11/2009 at a brakes repair shop. Costly to perform repairs and was told by the people that replaced the hub and wheel bearing assembly that the sensor and wires that lead from the hub run very close to the axle which more than likely resulted in the damage.
Tl contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander. While driving approximately 50 miles per hour, the contact stated that the steering wheel began to shake. The contact stated that the front brakes also failed. The vehicle was repaired. The incident occurred again while driving approximately 50 miles per hour. The contact had the vehicle repaired a second time. The rotors were replaced and he was advised by the dealer that the pulsation in the rotors caused the failure to occur. The VIN was not available. The contact also opened a small claims against the dealer. The failure mileages were 11,660 ( incident) and 18,853 ( incident). The current mileage was 19,000.
Our ABS light is on bought it that way lady said she had the ABS hub replaced but it still won't go off. Sometimes when your driving the traction control trying to kick in but in the middle of the road or highway is not the place for your car to jerk out of no where scaring the crap out of you especially when your surrounded by cars on all sides.these 2 lights stay on they will not go off I don't feel I should have to go through all of thy his again because of a manufacturer mess up. This has happened more than once but I'll list the last time below.
My traction control light has been staying on sometimes the van accelerates on its own and service stability light comes on. Too the brakes have a grinding catch in brake pedal when pushing it when going down my driveway. Also the van has hesitation on starting you have to give it gas to start. These problems happen while youre driving. I just had a new transmission put in, but these problems started before my transmission went out.
Tl contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Uplander. The sliding door on the rear driver side would not stay latched. The contact called the dealer and manufacturer and they stated that she was responsible for having the door repaired. The vehicle has been in the shop six times now for the latch failure and the door opening on its own. Each time the vehicle was retrieved from the dealer, they stated that it was repaired when it was not. When the button was pressed to close the door, it would begin to shut and an alarm would sound; however, it would not shut and flew open while driving. The instrument panel does not indicate that the door is ajar. The rear passenger side door is beginning to experience the same failure. Neither the weather nor the speed were factors. The current mileage was 51,800 and failure mileage was 49,043. …
After only 6,500 miles all highway miles (no city driving) the brakes were grabbing. So I took it to the dealer to have them checked out and the dealer turned down all 4 rotors . I was mad, the service writer had the nerve to tell me that the reason the disks were warped was "while you were on the highway your brakes got so hot that when you pulled off on a ramp you hit the brakes and that's what warped your disks" I called GM an registered my complaint. Also when I talked to the service manager he told me that they have a lot of warped bakes on uplanders, if the upland just sits for a month on the lot the brakes warp. Now I have 17,700 miles on my van and the brakes are warped again, but now they have to change the rotors and want me to pay for them. Looks like I will be paying for rotors and turning them down at 6 to 7000 miles and replacing them every 10,000 miles.
