What owners report
We have had two 2006 trailblazers and both of them have been nothing but problems for us. The first one we brought we owned it for six months and we had it in the shop six times (broken sway bar, heater two times, windshield wiper fluid holder two times, shaky front wheel and motor misfiring. We traded in hopefully to avoid more problems and went ahead after assurance that this one must just be bad and got another 2006 Trailblazer. This one we have only had for 2 months and we're already having problems. Three days after we bought it had to go to the shop for the radio not working properly. Then the engine starting misfiring and the engine light was on and it was running really rough. The tech thought that it was happening because the gas cap wasn't all the way tightened. …
On August 2014, general motor decided that a defect which relates driver's door was not working properly it was to be replaced a safety related defect corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board causing the power door lock's and window switches to function intermittently or stop working in November of 2014 at the rochester ,mn dealer was to install a new door module at no charge to me the Chevrolet dealer rochester , said they performed the service that November 2014 but as of today the power door 's lock and window switches are doing just what the recall said after the service was performed should not do so on July 2015 I retune to the dealer and told them about the lock and window switches not working and was told by the dealer I need to pay $130.00 dollars or more to have them fix the problem I told the rochester ,dealer it was on a recall to be fix at a no charge to …
My 2005 Trailblazer instrument panel constantly fails - the speedometer stops working which is a safety issue. The gas gauge has been fixed once already and is now broken again. The vehicle has power surges which is another safety issue. The transmission shifts the car up and down when trying to slow down causing power surges. This is another safety issue. The following are other issues which this model vehicle: stereo cd player stopped working, the check engine light comes on when the gas cap light, the lights flicker also. I ought this vehicle used and with a cracked front bumper which the dealer didn't fix (dealer stuck a little bondo on area and repainted it so I thought it was a new bumper when I accepted the car after repair. It cracked in a matter of days) and I know this was caused due to the surges in power. A severe safety issue. …
I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer lt and live in birmingham, al. On my way home from church on a Sunday morning, I encountered a severe issue with my speedometer. As I was driving up on a police officer I looked at my speedometer, which said I was doing 70 so I began slowing down but my speedometer didn't - it continued to go up. I started hitting my brakes thinking that would make the speedometer go back down but it didn't. As I pulled off the interstate and stopped at a red light, the speedometer kept going up to 110 MPH. Then as the light turned green, I started again and the speedometer went straight to the bottom facing the floor. I thought when I get home and turn the car off, the speedometer would reset itself. Well ... It didn't!! I don't know what I'm going to do now! The economy is so !@#$% bad that I'm in the middle of a foreclosure and now this crap happens! …
Major electrical problems inside the vehicle. I have owned it less than a year.the vehicle has been in the shop twice in the past two weeks. Exiting the freeway the I had a complete power failure. The vehicle completely stopped and locked up and there was a semi truck behind me! My vehicle was moving and in "drive" when this happened. I had two of my toddlers in the car with me! The vehicle was taken into a local dealer and unfortunately they could not find anything wrong with it. Apparently, when the vehicle is restarted it erases the codes in the engine as to what caused the problem. Well, it happened to me again this evening. Same problem. This will be my 5th time of bringing this vehicle in for electrical problems in less than a year. I only have 9400 miles on the vehicle and bought it brand new. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle with my 5 children as passengers. …
2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle's A/C air output works fine, but when you switch it to heat, the output for this is diminished considerably. The vehicle heats up fine, but even when the airflow is entirely at the dash (none directed to the floorboard) the output of air for the heat is very low; so low it can't even be felt unless the hand is placed directly in front of the vent no matter how high the setting is. Veh has been taken back to the dealer (under warranty), and was told no diagnostic problem was detected; everything is working properly. Compared my vehicle to others of similar make/model/year, and dealer says all work the same. This is not true because last year, I could not stand the heat on setting of more than two because the output was very good. Now, it can be put at a higher setting, but with little heat output. …
Tl contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that upon entering the vehicle she smelled a foul odor which she described as mildew. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who installed a delayed blower. Approximately 2 years later the odor returned and the battery began to drain rapidly due to the delayed blower which continued to function when the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where a module within the delayed blower was replaced twice. The contact stated that a few months later, the blower stopped working. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer to replace the module inside of the blower. Approximately 2 years later the contact stated that the wiring within the delayed blower burned out and it was replaced. The failure had become progressively worse over time. …
Spare tire carrier not operational. Inability to change flat tire unsafe and costly (of course, to the owner). General motors poorly re-designed spare tire winch includes plastic housing for cable that deteriorates in the severe service area of a motor vehicle. Previous designs did not involve the use of plastics in the external mechanisms. Mine failed leaving me with a flat tire and a perfectly good spare that I was unable to lower from the rear undercarriage of the vehicle. Makes no sense to replace the winch with another of the same design leaving most people no option to either not carry a spare or carry inside the vehicle either unsafely anchored or not anchored at all becoming a projectile in the event of an accident.
