The car drives fine but a few weeks after purchase, the passenger mirror started moving. I have a car where when you open the car with your designated key, the mirrors set to your preferences. I kept resetting the mirror and a few days later they would not hold the set again. Now every time I shut off the car and get back in the mirrors have to be reset. There have been times when I forget to reset the mirror and start driving. I am so afraid I am going to hit someone while attempting to change lanes. I have to try to reset the mirror while driving and this takes my attention away from the road. I have had the car in the shop three times in kentucky. At first they kept telling me they couldn't find the problem because it didn't act up for them because it would hold for the time they had the car. …
During high speeds (interstate/long-distance driving) there is a vibrating noise on my windshield. This started years ago; at first I thought the noise was my antenna. I checked it to make sure it was secure and it was, so I dismissed the noise. I don't do a lot of long-distance or interstate driving, so it was a while before I heard the noise again. Ever since I have dismissed it as wind noise at high speeds. During my internet research of a recent mechanical problem, I came across information for improper windshield mounting and lift gate glass mounting on other GM vehicles. Although I did not find recall information for my make/model/year, I am filing this report because of windshield noise and potential windshield and lift gate glass failure on my vehicle. Now that I know about this possible defect, I will try to avoid interstate driving or try to drive 60 MPH or below. …
I have a 2004 Chevy trail blazer. The locking mechanism for the window failed, allowing my dog to put her foot on the control and roll the window up on her head. As soon as she was trapped I tried to free her, but the window had gotten off the track and would not lower. I stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road and tried to force the window down but that would not work either. Fortunately there was a police officer behind me when this happened and he shattered the window with his baton. If the police officer had not been right there, my dog would have strangled to death. There needs to be some sort of sensor to prevent the windows from rolling up if there is an object in the space. I know children as well as pets have been killed by this and it needs to be corrected. Another possibility is to position the control vertically on the door to make it less easy to accidentally trip.
The check engine light and the reduced engine power light came on the first time and the truck had no acceleration. There was a code recorded when service was performed and PCM was reprogrammed. The next 3 times the check engine light came on and the truck would only accelerate if the RPM's reved up to 2, then the truck would move very slowly. The problem they found this time was a faulty ingition switch (2 times) a program upgrade of the motherboard of the truck, and the tork converter clutch module. Windshield wiper blades stopped working during a snow/rain storm.
Driving down the road around 10:30 am going about 45 MPH the back window of my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer ext just exploded - glass everywhere in the back cargo compartment. Weather was clear and sunny and we did not have the rear defroster working. Fortunately we didn't have any other passengers in the vehicle other than me and my husband, and we were close to home, so we went home and called the insurance company to have someone come and fix it.

Rear window shattered while sitting in my 2004 Trailblazer. No rocks were thrown at the truck. Based on internet research it seems to be a recurring problem with GM SUV's. I called the dealer today (12/17/07) and the service manager denied having any knowledge of this problem. GM/dealer denying any knowledge of the issue seems to be recurring as well.
