The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact attempted to open it from the inside and outside the vehicle but the liftgate would not open. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 154,600.
I have had issues with my door locks going on and off for years and the dealer could never figure out what was wrong with it supposedly. I own a 2007 Chevy Tahoe lt. I was driving home from work on 05/23/2013 at about 50mph when I lost power for no apparent reason. I was luckily in the outside lane where I could maneuver my vehicle off the road without getting hit from behind as quickly as possible. At first I thought it was a dead battery and the tow truck jumped me and it started just fine so I replaced the battery the next day. Then I tried to start it the next day and nothing electrical would turn on when I turned the key. Tow truck came again to jump me and I took it to the dealer and they said it was the battery cables right from the get go. The service manager has been there for 15 years and knew exactly the issues I was having. They replaced the cables to a cost to me of $500!!! …
My wife and I have been victims of the faulty chrome plating peeling from the interior door release handles, causing a razor type cut to tips of our fingers therefore causing loss of blood. The interior door release handles have been replaced 3 times within the last 10 months resulting in failure soon after. The last incident happened 6/28/2008 when I exited the vehicle which cut my finger. There is no visual warning when the chrome plating seam fails, but to receive the razor 'like' cut to the finger which is very painful. Our level of concern for the safety of our children and family members that have blood ailments such has diabetes type ii,enema, is of great concern. I have been subjected to having to wrap tape on the existing handles that have already been replaced to prevent what could cause permanent bodily injury which I feel is totally unacceptable. …
Tl contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. He stated when entering his vehicle he noticed that his vehicle had been vandalized and the rear seats where missing. A police report was filed. The vehicle was inspected by an insurance adjuster who determined that there is no security plate behind the drivers side door handle which will prevent someone from braking the door handle and getting into the vehicle. He contacted the manufacturer and was informed that there where no current recalls on the vehicle so no compensation would be offered. He was informed by the repair shop that this is a common problem with the vehicle door handle failing with the year make and model. The vehicles where vandalized and the contact feels that the manufacturer should have the plates installed in the vehicles to prevent theft. The failure mileage was 12,805 and the current mileage was 13,000. Bl
I have a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe and over the past 3 months, the door handles have begun to come loose and pull off the vehicle. I've done research online and I've found that this is a very common problem. The piece is made of plastic and snaps into place and thus has become loose. All 4 of my doors are experiencing this problem and we've been told that GM is not covering this under warranty (I have an extended warranty as well) because it is considered a "trim" piece for the vehicle. This is another reason why I won't buy another GM car and hope they fail next time. I can't believe the government bailed them out and I would like a return of my portion of taxes given to them for their ignorance, lack of quality and lack of professionalism.
Tl contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the electric rear liftgate opens while driving 50 MPH. The failure also occurs while the vehicle is parked. The liftgate opens just enough so that all of the doors continuously lock and unlock and the interior lights illuminate. After the first failure, the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they attempted to repair it without changing any parts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on four occasions. The contact is being forced to hire an attorney to resolve this issue. She stated that Chevrolet is not keeping their word and the failure is a safety hazard for her and her children. The current mileage is 11,000 and failure mileage was 3,500.
I am writing to advise a complaint regarding our 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe ltz door handles. In April 2011, the outside drivers side door handle came partially unattached from the body of the vehicle. The handle came loose only on one side (the far left) leaving it attached from only the far right. The exact same thing happened to the drivers side rear passenger within the last week. That is 2 handles in 2 months. My 5 year old daughter pinched her finger in the unattached space while attempting to open the door. I have taken our vehicle to the dealer and they are charging $172 per handle for the repairs. Vehicle is a 2007 with only 25,000 miles.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the driver and passenger rear door could not be unlocked. The owner would have to manually pull the door lock up after opening the window in order to get the door open. The contact was concerned because a young child usually sat in the rear seat and the contact was concerned that in the event they would have to exit the vehicle hastily, the child could possibly become stuck in the vehicle. The vehicle was not inspected by a dealer nor repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000. The VIN was unavailable.
My child attempted to open rear door on my 2007 Chevy Tahoe ltz. One side of the handle broke, thus pulling one side away from the door and pinching her hand somehow! This is the 2nd handle to break on this vehicle. I personally went to open my passenger side door and it broke right off! What if we were in a crash and needed to be pulled out and the door handles break off?!? Very dangerous! Upon investigating this defect I have learned this is not an uncommon incident! See following link http://www.topix.com/forum/autos/Chevrolet-Tahoe/trfog7j2eokh998g2 I hope we can see a recall out of this!
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that upon inspection, the door lock mechanism failed to operate intermittently and without warning. The contact also mentioned that when shifting into park, the doors would not unlock intermittently and the unlock/lock button had to be depressed repeatedly. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the technician stated that the driver's side door lock module would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 70,000.
