Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. While driving 40 MPH, the vehicle independently jerked to the left and right without warning. The contact lost control of the vehicle and struck a curb. The vehicle rolled over three times and landed upright. The contact stated that the air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed. Minor injuries were sustained, but did not require medical attention. The vehicle was destroyed and towed from the scene. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14V355000 (electrical system); however, the part to do the repair was unavailable. I recently purchased a 2007 Chevy Impala, 3 weeks after purchase while on the highway, the car suddenly slowed down to a crawl, a reduced engine light came on the dash, being as we were on the highway to suddenly only being able to go 20mph was very frightening!! I was able to get the car to the side and had to have it towed home. After searching this issue online I found thousands of complaints from people with the same issue with this same car. I find it strange there was not a recall for this due to it being a serious safety issue. After calling a Chevy dealer, they told me all they could do is hook it up for diagnostic tests but it would cost 175.00 just to do that. This vehicle is still parked and we are unable to drive it and still have no idea what's wrong with it. …
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. While driving approximately 45 MPH, the engine stalled without warning. The contact stated that the traction control warning indicator illuminated intermittently when making turns. On another occasion, another vehicle crashed into the front of the contact's vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and the passenger from the other vehicle sustained injuries that did not require medical attention. The vehicle was towed to a dealer who stated that the traction control failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. The contact stated that while driving, the instrument panel indicated the service traction control, engine reduce, and starting disable service throttle messages illuminated. The steering wheel ceased. The contact was able to coast to the side of the road and power off the engine. The contact waited for five minutes and was able to drive normal. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
While driving my "service traction control" message came on followed by "reduced engine power". It slows down my vehicle and sometimes I cannot even accelerate when these messages appear. They always come on together and every single time I drive. Sometimes right away, sometimes after I've been driving for awhile. It use to not happen when I was using my cruise control but not even when that is on it happens.
Tl* the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Impala. When the accelerator pedal was depressed, the vehicle shifted and jerked. The contact turned the traction control button off, but the vehicle failed to move. The traction control and engine indicators illuminated off and on. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
Vehicle in motion at 70 miles per hour, vehicle shut off and lost power steering, braking, and nearly causing a fatal collision on a highway overpass. Errors on dash stated throttle disabled stop engine, oil pressure low engine power reduced. Upon further investigation there was a recall (expired?) for pedal position sensor due to faulty soldering.
Transmission tends to long shift at 1st and 2nd gears causing erratic shifting uphill and sometimes turns. Unsafe! Jasper engines and transmissions did update for clutch plates and pressure solenoid for this is known to be a problem. Hesitated acceleration whim going uphill. First trans was installed in 2016 October
Traction control problem....warning light and message that the traction control is not working correctly and power to the engine is reduced...after car is off nd sits for a couple of hours, the waning signs are off and car is at full power for aaproximatly 3 to 10 miles, then I happens again....
ABS & traction control service light kept coming on and I took it to dealership for service and they told me it was the hub assembly for the left side driver side that was covered under warranty and that I needed to replace my front rotors and brake pads (I wasn't having any problems with my brakes but because they said they needed replacing I went along with it). After repairs were completed and my vehicle "road-tested", I picked up my car and after leaving the dealership, both the ABS and traction service light came on again and I called and they scheduled me in for an appt. 2 days later. They couldn't find the problem so they called and told me that they needed to dig deeper and keep my car overnight and that I would now be charged a diagnostic fee to diagnose the problem up to $100. …
