What owners report
Normal driving conditions while in Z-mode in moderate traffic, an audible bang was heard, however there was no immediate issue. A few minutes later the Check Engine Light, ABS, Traction Control and other lights appear on dash. Once lights appear, brakes fail and no longer slow the car down, the gas pedal only revved the car and could no longer accelerate. The car was still on and "driving", I just didn't have acceleration or brakes. I put my turn signal on and eventually was able to safely pull off the road and stop the vehicle utilizing Neutral and the Emergency Parking Brake. I was in genuine fear of crashing due to not having brakes or acceleration and felt that if the parking brake and/or neutral failed, then I'd have to crash to stop the vehicle. Not having brakes or acceleration put myself, my passenger, and every vehicle around me when it occurred at risk of injury. …
Vehicle is 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 with about 33000 miles. On XXXI was driving about 65 mph on [redacted] in the left lane with my wife as passenger. On a slight left curve the front brakes applied hard on their own without my input. The car slowed very rapidly. A semi truck in the right lane had to take evasive action to avoid a collision. A similar event happened on [redacted] with only me in the car at about 45 mph. The front brakes applied on their own in a similar way. I also recall a possible similar event in November or [redacted]. I am not certain of that earliest date. Since then, it has happened several times more and confirmed by Chevrolet Dealership. Warning symptoms: The tire pressure monitoring system warning light has been on intermittently. The right front tire pressure does not display. The light was on before the March event and is on now. …
This complaint is a result of GM non action to their recall a202307260. It has been 2 months since the recall has been announced and parts or not available. Loss the the affected item (brake booster) severely impacts safety that could cause an accident resulting in severe injuries or death. GM has parts -- they are building 180 units per day. There are under 700 - 2020 Corvette cars affected by this recall. GM is putting profit and sales ahead of safety. NHTSA should require GM to immediately use production parts to remedy this issue and close this recall considering it is safety related.
GM refuses to replace the brake module despite the fact that this has been known since September 2020. The remedy "is incomplete"and parts are not yet available. It is ludicrous to assume that parts on a currently produced car are not available. They are installing this module daily. These are brakes that can fail and can cause an accident when they do fail.
car only has 31,000 miles on it and it's leaking gas from the top of the gas tank. will need fuel pump replaced. not a safe thing to have cheap parks, spilling gas over the exhaust pipes. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE TO ME! anti lock brake system is also giving issues for a couple years now, noted by previous owner. This car only has 31,000 miles!
Upon braking to enter a tight left hand turn in the country the dic displayed several warning indicators, ABS and traction control. The right front brake locked up (confirmed by the flat spot on the tire). I began modulating the brakes thinking that I had lost anti-lock brakes, but the right front brake had locked up. This reduced the braking ability of the car causing me to go off the outside of a left hand turn and into a ditch damaging some components of the front end. I was able to return home safely. The car was parked until a mechanic looked at it. A dialectic grease was applied to the connectors between the system and the wheels at all 4 corners. This seemed to resolve the issue as experienced on that day. Now, 5 months later all the dash lights involved in the active handling system have come on again. …
Investigation number ea09-002 going into a slow left sharp turn the vehicle cut off fuel, triggered service ABS, service active handling, service traction control. During this time I could not accelerate. ABS braking is now disabled and will not reset with ignition cycles.
The front right brake hose that connects the brake 'hard lines' to the caliper failed. The rubber portion separated from the fitting on the caliper causing complete brake failure. Brake pedal went to the floor and all brake fluid dumped out onto the ground and inside of the wheel. The vehicle was traveling at high speed under hard brake pressure. Miraculously, I was able to swerve around obstacles and avoid serious collision. I'm lucky to be alive to write this complaint. Upon removing the wheel, the brake hose was hanging free of the caliper draining what was left of the contents of the brake system on the ground.
