2001 Chevy Blazer 4 door 4wd, 80,000 miles we could not keep the drivers door closed when we investigated we found the door latch segment on the center post of the vehicle had broken off the center post. The sheet metal holding the heavy latch metal had fatigued through all the way around, and the latch was then not hooked to any thing. We welded a heavy plate to the frame and re-attached the latch to it. We checked the passenger side and found it in similar condition.
Dt*: the contact stated the driver's side door sounded as if it was going to fall off. The vehicle was taken to a dealership ,where they determined the latches on the door corroded. The manufacturer has been contacted.
The fuel pump, line and tank are faulty at 35000 miles. I bought it as a used car from santa ana Hyundai who agreed to fix the fuel pump but did not. The transmission is not changing gears properly, it would not start when I turned it off to get gas on 9-26-03, the left front end is popping with a loud noise, the brakes are not antilock brakes,it feels as if I am hitting metal when I stop hard, the panel lights would flicker, lights on dash board when flash when I had seatbelt on. I had a Chevrolet dealership fix the minor things. The battery cable was loose and they oiled the joints to stop the squeak. The dealer refused to fix the fuel pump which is unsafe and demand I pay him money that is already above the price of this car. …
Rear tailgate on my 2000 Chevrolet Blazer ls would not open after closing. The rear inside trim panel had to be broken because of a poor design to get to cheap plastic actuator unit to release the rear window and tailgate. Costly repair not under warranty. Could pose safety problem if it was the only escape route in car crash. I feel GM should at least cover parts repair since the only way to replace the problem is to break a $145.00 + trim panel because the screws for that panel are on the side of the tailgate which you can't get open to unscrew them. I think this is problem which GM refuses to address and like I said is a costly problem for the consumer.
The metal behind the "hook" on the frame where the driver's door latch cracked, causing severe rattling and running risk of the door opening unintentionally. The door hinges and the hook had to be replaced and the frame welded at a cost of more than $500. The vehicle had less than 45,000 miles when the problem first occurred.
Both the driver side door and front passenger side doors, door bushings went out, causing the doors to droop and cause damage to the frame latch...attempt to fix the problem was unsuccessful. The bushings need replaced and welding work needs to be done on the frame.
The handle controlling the recline function on both driver and passenger seats has broken. The driver side was replaced once while under warranty, both seats are now in an upright position. Around April, 2003, the hood latch broke and it takes forever to maneuver to get the hood up to check the oil.
Complaint 1: hood latch problem!!! This is the same problem GM vehicles have been having for at least 25 years!!!!! The hood will not release unless you pull the release lever and pound on the hood. You would think they would borrow or use fords system of better parts!!!!-----complaint 2: the door panels have a weak area where the knee comes into contact with it on turns, mine cracked real bad!!! Complaint 3: main complaint:--the heater core started leaking and fogged my windshield up so bad I had to pull over to the side of the road. Could have caused a bad accident!!! I was in heavy traffic on hwy. 69 at mcalester OK. And had to pull off and wound up cutting the hoses and splicing to keep from running into heater core, this was on labor day 2003. I need to know if this is a problem the carmaker will correct for me for free. …

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2025 Chevrolet Blazer, Blazer EV, and Equinox vehicles. The door strikers were not properly heat-treated, which can cause them to break.
Remedy: Dealers will replace all four side door strikers and attachment bolts, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still in dealership inventory and therefore no owner notification letters are expected to be mailed.
