My 2008 Avalanche with 72,000 miles on it, is completely rotting away underneath. I've had to replace many parts, shocks, autoride compressor, fuel pump module, had body rust repaired, have had 3 door handles fall right off.. Last 2 mechanics told me that all parts located underneath truck are rotting away and that I need to get rid of truck because it is not worth repairing. I have tried to work with GM but they claim that its normal wear and tear. Paid 30K for truck dec 2011. Have membership to car wash, and keep it very clean. Undercarriage included. Cant get my service suspension light to shut off, even the dealer cant. This truck should not be rotting away the way it is.. Please help.

After driving the smell of fuel comes from the engine by the drivers door. I contacted GM and my vehicle does not show on the list of this known recall. They passed me to a local dealership which stated my vehicle is not one that falls under the recall and admitted they had fixed others with similar issues. This is appalling that a manufacture can assist some customers but not all. I will never purchase another GM vehicle again.

The vehicle was returned to the dealer where she was informed that the vehicle needed a new canister and sensor. The vehicle was repaired. 2004 Avalanche · 145,000 miles · Dec 2015

Rear hydraulic brake lines rotted and leaked fluid causing loss of braking. Last year I had to have the rear brake calipers replaced due to excessive rust and rot. The mechanic performing current repairs stats that the front hydraulic lines are rusting and will have to be replaced soon. The front calipers have rotted out bleeder valves. The front calipers will have to be replaced as a result when the front hydraulic lines are replaced. Check engine light was diagnosed to an evaporative emissions system leak. The leak was traced to a damaged plastic fitting connected to the fuel pump at the top of the fuel tank. The fuel pump metal was rotted causing the joint to expand damaging the fitting and causing the leak. I do not trailer a boat and the truck has never been immersed in salt water. …
