Our non-moving vehicle was involved in a hard rear-end collision at a in city traffic waiting to make a legal turn. A week later vehicle lost steering mobility. We had baton rouge, la Acura dealership run a diagnostic. They failed to determine if the failure was directly associated with rear-end collision. I would say so. That is fine lil tough car. We are the second owners. All we have had to do is preventive maintenance and change a battery. Acura cars at 88K miles do not have electrical component steering problems. At the time an owner of a 2008 TSX had 179K miles with no problems. Our household had to experience more than a$1700 unexpected expense. Spoke with an NHTSA rep last week. She mentioned the steering system is under warranty for that model year (2013). Help
As I was driving down a straight road, the steering wheel locked and I got a message on the dashboad. It said that the electrical power steering system May not be working. I turned off the car. I turned it back on and continued to drive. However, within 1 min, the wheel locked again. Thank god I hadnt gotten on the freeway. There could've been serious consequences as this is an extremely dangerous situation while driving. I slowly brought it back home as I had to continuously turn off and on the car to unlock wheel for 1 min. To make some turns. This should not have happened to this car that I bought less than 10 years old. I had just taken it in a couple of months ago for an oil check and inspection.

The Electronic Power Steering Component failed in the vehicle. No previous warning lights or problems with steering. Had just parked car returned an hour later and warning light comes on. Fortunately, I was pulling out of a parking place when the steering locked up. Vehicle was towed to Acura dealer and the service advisor stated it would be covered under 15 year extended warranty then called parts to locate part to be replaced. I was called the next morning and told vehicle would be ready by end of day, but a few hours later surprisingly, I was informed the part (Power steering rack) was not covered and the cost would be $3,400. To add insult to injury was offered to have sales appraise my car so they could fix and resell!!! I only have 38,500 miles on my 2012 vehicle and now my vehicle is just sitting. This is a real issue there definitely should be a recall for this. …
While driving my 2011 Acura TSX wagon on 10 July 2021, the power steering failure indicator light came on while crossing a bridge and my power steering immediately failed. After the vehicle was towed home, I searched the manual and found there is no power steering reservoir to check for fluid. So I researched YouTube and found that this power steering has been a major problem with this vehicle. This is extremely dangerous and as I was on a bridge the danger was even greater as I could not pull over. I managed to safely exit but could not pull into a parking lot as there was not enough distance to keep the vehicle moving and I was unable to turn the wheel while the vehicle was almost at a standstill. When I got the car home, I researched how to correct the problem. Since the manual was useless, I turned to YouTube and proceeded to check the fuse first. It was not blown. …
My car has approximately 75,000 miles. I was driving in a parking lot and and indicator came on stating "check power steering." the steering wheel locked up and became almost impossible to turn. I turned the car off and went on my way, hoping it was a temporary problem. The problem went away the next time I turned on my car. But 3 days later, the var did the same thing when I was driving in a parking lot. This time, it never went away. The car could not be driven, and was towed to my mechanic. My mechanic noticed that the power steering system frequently failed on 2011 Acura TSX's. When I searched for "2011 Acura TSX steering failure," I also noticed that this problem has happened frequently and has caused a number of accidents--the power steering has failed while people were driving. My mechanic ordered a new power steering computer for my car, but that did not fix the problem. …
