When my volkswagon Jetta was broadsided at a signal light junction, none of the airbags front or side were activated. Also the rear side door flew off from the car and a result of which both my children were ejected and injured. The car is completely totalled.

I have had nothing but issues with my 2001 Jetta. I have replaced all the wheel bearings and the front bearing twice. I have also had to replace the engine coils twice on this car. Now in the last 2-3 weeks the clear coat has started to peel off the car. The paint is not coming off just the clear coat. I called the vw care center and they ran me around having me take the car to a vw body shop, and having the service manager look at it and neither one of them could tell me why the clear coat was peeling. They both did respond by saying the could be sure but in May have been over baked at the factory after it was painted but of course nobody want to admit that because then vw would be liable to fix it. So in calling the vw care center back the pretty much told me the car was 5 year old and it wasn't their problem any more but mine. Great customer service. …

2001 vw Jetta wolfsburg 40K miles - water leaks into the car from underneath the instrument panel on the passenger side. Dealer stated that it was the drain channel from the sunroof. Week later the problem reoccurred. Dealer stated that they have no idea as to what is causing the problem. They're in process of taking the car apart. Vw customer service is not being helpful at all. I've seen at least two comments on the web about similar problem, but the dealer and the vw customer service claims that they have never seen this problem before. Any advise before my car gets totally disassembled? Not to mention water damage to the carpeting...

Opened drivers door and the lower of the two bolts on the lower door secure hinge sheared off. The door has never been removed or repaired previously. The only way this could have happened is if the bolt were over tightened upon installation. The vehicle is past warranty and vw America will not pay for this replacement. This could be a serious problem if more bolts shear because of improper tightening. We base the over tightening suggestion on the opinion of three independent body repair shops, one of which specializes in Volkswagen repairs.

The consumer has had on going problems with the mass air flow sensor continually failing. The sensor has been replaced three times. Each time the sensor failed the vehicle lost power. The consumer received a letter from vw of America which extended the warranty of the sensor to 7 years or 70000 miles on Jetta's from 1999 to 2001. The consumer feels this is an improper solution to the problem. The front seat frames continued to break. Vw have replaced them on the consumers vehicle 5-6 times under warranty.

Debris from gaskets in air ventilation system exits the air vents and hits the occupants. The debris, on occasion, hit the driver in the eye causing temporary loss of vision. The debris flying out into the face of the driver or other vehicle occupant is always a distraction to driver attention to driving even when direct contact with the eye(s) does not occur.

Parking on a curb stone or parking cement block with front of car near the cement stop. (2) plastic front bumber clips over any block higher than 4 inches and like a lobster trap, when reversing, rips the bumper from it's fastening. Bumper could fall off and go under the moving car causing an accident. (3) remove front bumper.

Car is parked and when it rains water leaks in from the passenger side. No accidents and cleaned all drains and pipes. I remember a letter about a year or two ago regarding this from vw but since my car did not leaked I was not worried, now its a puddle of water. What can I do.
