Rented vehicle from hertz in oklahoma city, OK on 10/14/18. When I returned vehicle on 10/18/18, the rental car associate wrote "safety" on the window. As I was driving, the anti-slip brake light came on, followed immediately by the brake light. The conditions were dry and I was on a straight city street so there was no reason for it to light up. Since it was concerning the braking system, I pulled into a parking lot as soon as I was able. The brakes seemed to be working properly. My owners manual gave me steps to reset it, none of which worked. At the dealership, they finally figured out it was the anti-skid brake ECU. I was told it could be driven but I wouldn't have the anti-skid technology if I were to ever need to slam on my brakes or if I were in slippery conditions. The vehicle is 3 years old and had less than 60 k miles on it at the time. It's a $3000 repair. When I looked into it, there are reports online dating back to 2008 for this type of failure. …

I brought my Sequoia in for a 10,000 mile oil change and when I picked it up, I was told that the dealership had completed ssc doe update. Since the update, my vehicle makes a loud noise when turning the engine off and then a thump sound. Was told that the noise is coming from the air injection pumps that were affected from the doe update. Toyota will not give me any documentation on the recall for my vehicle that affects the emission control ejector to fail and the vehicle going into fail safe mode. Toyota representatives are telling me that the noise is normal and is suppose to be there. This noise was not present before the update and I do not feel that the vehicle is safe when it is extremely secretive about the recall or the update that is being performed on the vehicle due to the recall. My vehicle makes noises that do not sound right. …

ABS and traction control failure due to failed right rear ABS wheel sensor and wiring harness. ABS and traction control would initiate at random to include when pulling out into traffic without any wheel slip. The initiation of traction control while accelerating and merging with traffic caused some close calls with the loss of power and deceleration of my car. After random initiated the ABS warning light would come on and the car would have no ABS, traction control, or 4 wheel drive. Toyota service writer stated that this is becoming a common repair due to issues with corrosion. Service writer knew that both an ABS sensor and wiring harness needed to be replaced as a pair as this repair is now "so common". If Toyota knows that this standard safety equipment is failing due to corrosion and obvious design issues they should be replacing at no cost to the owner.

The secondary injection system has failed. Toyota is aware of this defect and has extended the warranty for this issue on 2008-2010 Sequoia. The 2007 has the same engine and same defective parts but Toyota will not cover the replacement. Hey should cover all vehicles with the same engine types because they are all going to have the same issue! This repair can cost the consumer up to $3600. The vehicle makes a loud sound upon starting and the trac and ABS light and check engine light appears. My vehicle is at the dealer but in my opinion Toyota should repair these vehicle free of charge especially if this is a known issue.

My vsc trac, trac off and check engine lights all came on yesterday. I was driving so I'm not sure if they all came on at the same time or not. The brake does not over ride cruise control on highway. So it will continue gas up even you use brake under cruise control mode. This is pretty disappointing since this problem has been seen all the way back to the first generation
