I bought a fairly new used car 2004 Pontiac grandam from stark Pontiac , sun praire wi on 12/2005, and the mileage was around 13,000-14,000 and now 28,000 and on 08/18/06 and I was almost in a car accident due to skidding off the road and I noticed I had a flat tire I took the tire to get repaired and was told it had bumps no nail that probably the bumps were the cause of the deflation, so I bought a new tire and then 2 days after I looked at my front tire and I could see the tearing in the tires . My husband reviewd the tires and he stated they had big bumps , I didn't take in for inspection since I don't want to have to pay agian. Now I AM afraid the tires will burst on me while driving to work . …
Dt: while driving in rainy weather it sounded from the right front corner of the car under the hood like something was grinding or abrasion. It sounded like two bearings rubbing against each other. Took the car to the dealer, and they were not able to hear it. The dealer took it for a test drive, lifted it up onto the lift and was not able to hear any noise. Updated 8/14/2006 - the right front tire warped. The brake calipers warped shortly after the vehicle was purchased. Both front rotors had to be replaced due to warpage. The consumer heard noise on the driver's side front end. The dealer replaced the upper strut mount, bearing plate and aligned the front end. The vehicle would lose power while driving. The dealer reprogrammed the engine control module. The master cylinder leaked and had to be replaced. Power steering pump leaked and was replaced. The tramsmission was slipping.
I bought this car in November 2003, in April of 2004 I started to have problems with the brake making noises. The car went into the shop and they replaced the driver side caliper and replaced front brake pads. In June of 2004 the car went back in for the same brake noise the shop resurfaced my rotors and replaced a missing brake clip. In July the car went back into the shop for the same brake noise again, the shop replaces the brake pads again and resurfaced the rotors again. It is now October and the noise is still there! In July 2004 the car went back into the shop for a knocking noise coming from the front end. The strut mounts were replaced. Again in July the car went back in for the same front end noise. The shop replaced the steering rack which did not fix the problem so they put the old one back in. They then replaced the right front strut and lower control arm. …
On 9/1/08, I was driving north on 275 from tampa, approximately 50 miles, when I heard a thumping noise and pulled immediately to the side of the road. Upon examination, I found that the tread of the tire had peeled off and did a lot of damage to my car, left front. Called aaa to put on the spare ("donut") and drove slowly to dunedin, florida, for my work week. Called state farm and was advised to take care to garage, covered under comprehensive coverage, less $250 deductible.. Dunedin garage replaced front left fender and repaired damage to front bumper and front left door. Had to replace two front tires, which I had to pay for. Rental car during one week repair was 80% paid by state farm state farm picked up the damaged tire from dunedin garage.
I purchased my 2001 Grand AM gt in 2002. So far since I've owned the car, I seem to replace the breaks every 10,000 miles or every year, I have had the rotors replaced twice within the last 5 years, replaced the alternator and fuel pump. Now, my ABS lights continue to go on and most recently, my car will not start it seem every two weeks (I hope I AM not away from home when this happens) - the security light has been coming on and have to keep the key in the "on" position for 10 minutes and then try to start the car - my garage told me it was a security code problem that only the dealer can fix. I have only 90,000 miles on the car and now, I need a rack and pinion which will cost me another $900.00 (I spent approx $500 dollars on the car in the last 6 months). My break pad wear out at least yearly (I AM retired and don't even drive the car long distance). …
We had a flat in our driveway on one of a set of Goodyear gt hr tires which were purchased in June 2007. Upon changing the tire and inspecting it, the tire had large cracks all around the perimeter on the interior side. We checked the other tires and saw similar cracks. We took it to the Goodyear dealer where they were purchased and the owner found it leaking at one of these cracks. I commented that I was dismayed that these tires dry rotted at only three years, to which he stated that, "they aren't dry rotted; these are stress fractures". I asked why they would have these fractures after only three years and what caused them, and he gave me no answer. The dealer seemed to have no concern that these tires are failing in this way in only three years and only wanted me to purchase replacements, offering a very small discount, to which we declined. …
After having to get the wheels bearings replaced in my front wheels, I started hearing a knocking/clicking noise coming from the wheels. I took it back to the same place and they replaced the bearings again, but the noise was still there. The third and fourth time I took it there they replaced cv joints and front controls arms. The noise was still there. I gave up on that garage. I took it to a second place where they pretty much took apart everything under the front end of my car. Four months later I still hear the clicking, and I think this current problem is related. Driving down the highway last week the ABS, service vehicle soon, and traction off light all came on. Took it to a repair shop and they have no idea what is wrong (no codes). After I start my car, the first few times I brake, it makes a clanking noise and the brakes lose all pressure for a few seconds. …
I have after market rims with sumitomo htr+ 225/40zr18 tires. On my way traveling to california from louisiana my rear tire blew out causing my rim to crack and it also scrached up the lower right half of my car, it cost me $600.00 to replace the rim and tire and now I have a bubble forming in my front driver side tire I think that the company who makes this tire should refund me the money I spent to replace the rim and tire, fix the damage to my car, and also give me a replacement for the one with the bubble. Something needs to be done because im not the only one this has happened to my frind has the same exact tires and his did the same thing only he was at a stop light when it happened.these tires are not cheap and I still have to repaire the body damage. Thank you from a concered soldier of the army.
