My turn signals are no longer working. I found that if I pushed the hazards button, it would make the turn signals work. His worked for a while (about 6 months) but now I do not have functioning hazard lights or turn signals. This happened while I was driving posing a very dangerous situation.

Pontiac has a recall issued for over 600,000 Pontiac Grand ams for the hazard warning flasher and blinker signal. In August, I contacted Pontiac customer service and they told me a recall notice would be issued for my vehicle but the parts were not ready yet and it would be a few months. I had to replace the hazard warning switch because my flashers and blinkers stopped working and the dealership made me pay for it because they said they had no info on the recall yet. Now I AM having the same problem with my vehicle again and not only does the dealership deny that there is a recall for my vehicle but Pontiac customer service says there is no recall for my vehicle. They had no trouble finding the original recall notice but now they deny it exists. They have never sent me a recall notice, although they have sent a notice to my wife who also has a Pontiac Grand AM of the same year as mine! …

My turn indicators did not always work and clicked intermittently. Found NHTSA campaign id number : 03V327000 mfr's report date : aug 27, 2003 component: exterior lighting:hazard flashing warning lights:switch took the car to dealership and they told me there was no recall, when I threatened legal action, they said they found a voluntary fix, not at all the same as a recall. I got the car back and the indicators worked, but when turned off, they continued to click intermittently. Dealer refused to fix. On 9/26 the dash started smoking when I used the turn indicator so I took the car in and the dealer charged me $345.15 for the repair. They replaced the turn signal switch in the tree. They said it was shorting. Greg meyer service manager at pierson agreed that Pontiac should pay, but said his hands were tied. He suggested I file this complaint. …

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM and while driving at any speed I found the use of the turn signal either left or right were intermittent. I took the car to a dealer and had the problem verified by a mechanic at the dealership . I was informed that even though there had been a recall on this problem for my make and model that my VIN was not included . I contacted GM and was told that there was in fact a recall with this problem ,reference GM recall#03043 and NHTSA campaign #03V327000 but my VIN was not on the list and there was nothing else they would do for me . The dealer quoted me a total cost of repair of 120.00 even thought the same defect was repaired on similar cars same make and model and year as mine and cost was picked up by GM. This is a safety feature defect with the hazard warning switches.

I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM se recently, I had paid out of pocket to get my "hazard warning switch," replaced because the turn signals/hazard lamps become intermittent or inoperative. NHTSA put out a recall on 08/28/03, recall #03V327000. I took my vehicle to a GM dealer in hawaii in an attempt to get the part replaced under recall. The dealership did not honor the recall request and stated that I must pay out of pocket. I then took my vehicle to an ase certified mechanic repair shop and had the needed repairs done. I paid $98.36 out of my pocket for the part and labor. On 4/18/07 I called GM ([phone]) to request reimbursement for what I paid out. GM refused to pay. I AM now seeking reimbursement for the monies I had to pay out. Are you able to assist me with this problem?

I own a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM gt that has had a series of electrical problems. It started three weeks ago with my turn signals. After a turn or lane change and the lever returned to its neutral position, the turn signal would click for up to 10 minutes. Then a week later the driver side door power window would not work. Then the car died on me while driving on an interstate. Thank goodness there was no one behind me. Upon review, the dealorship found that a sensor leading to the fuel pump was bad. I had heard about a recall of hazard light/turn signals in Pontiac Grand AM's but after calling GM several times they insist there is not a recall and therefore will not pay any of the $2000.00 in repairs. Please give me any info you can.
