I lost my low beams about a year ago and also one high beam. Just one month ago that headlight went out also. I have read that there are wiring problems r/t the Pontiac G6. I am unable to drive my car at night without headlights. The fuses, bulbs and relay switches are intact and working. My mechanic says it's a wiring problem. Is the manufacturing company responsible for this kind of problem? Other electrical issues are present. When my seatbelt is on I get a message that it is not. Sometimes if I wiggle or reinsert it the light goes out, but more often than not it is on. I also get messages that says my airbag isn't working on drivers side. The check engine light goes on and off if I hit a good size bump. I also had a mechanic spray WD40 under my drivers seat and that made the check engine light go out for several months.
I bought this car from a dealership called drive now in lebanon tennessee. About 2 miles after signing and trading my vehicle for this one the ESC, tc off, check engine, low tire pressure sensor lights all came on on the dash. I took it to them 4 different times now and they stated to me it's an electrical problem and they claimed to have fixed it!! A month later it all began again. It starts with the driver side headlight going out then the passenger side headlight goes out and then all the lights come back on again. This time however once I replaced the light on the drivers side I noticed it had melted inside the wires. I drive home and seen the car was smoking from under the hood amd the battery cables were blazing with fire. Luckily I had a gallon of water that I put the fire out with. …
The contact owns a 2009 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that a friend had alerted him that his brake lights remained illuminated while driving. The contact also stated that the brake lights would go out upon the depression of the brake pedal without warning. The contact then placed some dielectric grease on the brake wiring harness which repaired the brake light connection. The contact also stated that the front driver's side headlight also failed to operate without warning. The contact applied dielectric grease to the wiring harness however, the failure persisted. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000 (Electrical System, Exterior Lighting, Vehicle Speed Control, Electronic Stability Control). The contact had spoken with the manufacturer and was informed that the VIN was not under recall. …
Well, we purchased a 2009 Pontiac G6 in November of 2021. We have been having problems with our light staying on, we were pull over a couple nights ago due to our lights not working. Also, our G6 pulls to the right and tweeters are the only speakers that work. Sometimes the driver door speaker will come on but that's in a blue moon. My step dad looked at my lights and noticed our wires were burnt and so was the connection piece. My fianc informed me the other day that when he was fueling up, that he had to turn the car off because he heard a weird noise coming from the inside of the gas tank. Also, when we purchased the vehicle the battery was put in wrong and rubbing up against our hood [redacted] near caught our car on fire. Sometimes the car with slowing idle and won't go until I have to put my foot all the way down to the floor. …
The contact owns a 2008 Pontiac G6. The contact stated that while her fianc ' was driving behind her, he notified her that her rear driver's and passenger's side brake lights remained illuminated while the accelerator pedal was depressed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the rear passenger's and driver's side brake light bulbs were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact replaced brake sensors, emergency brake sensors and ABS Module but the failure continued to occur. The local dealer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not contacted. The contact was informed of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V252000(ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, EXTERIOR LIGHTING, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC). I purchased my 2007 pontiac g6 4 cylinder with 40k on the odometer on 5/13/2021. I notice right away it started having problem when i drove it home and it has been almost three weeks now and the problem is intermitten. This issue happens on local road city speed (25mph) and on highway doing highway speed (60mph) intermittently. When this issue occurs the steering wheel shake like crazy and it seems like it wants to pull over to the left or the right (feels like the car wants to drive itself). I would have to put some force to keep the steering wheel straight. The error code would pop up on the radio display stating "power steering". There was a recall for this issue for the electronic power steering assist. The problem is that the recall expired 6/31/2006 and my car is made on 7/2006 so the vin number does not fall in the recall list. …
FAILED COMPONENT SYSTEM: Driver & Passenger side Airbag system. SAFETY RISK: I was involved in motor vehicle collision, resulting in extensive front-end damage to my car. Upon impact, the driver and passenger side airbags did NOT deploy, which based on the extent of the damage to my vehicle they should have deployed. CONFIRMED REPORT: Yes, one component of the airbag system has already been reported to NHTSA for this make & model car pertaining defects or a problem of the passenger airbag sensing system/FMVSS 208, which can be referenced under the following Campaign number: 07V146000.
