Fuel pump drain plug leak. There is a leak in the fuel pump of my 1995 Plymouth Neon. I had an incident and brought it to a mechanic. The mechanic said that Chrysler did not have any recalls on it and they do not sell the plug by itself. The mechanic said that I would have to buy a new fuel pump. You see the problem is that the fuel pump itself has a drain plug and that deteriorated and fuel began to leak. I think this needs further investigating. I was lucky that I caught it on time. Think of those families who will not be so lucky. I still have the same fuel pump. We just installed a plug on it.
The car's computer, or ECU malfunctioned twice. No power was reaching the coil, hence there was no spark and the car would not start. At first the auto shutoff delay was replaced. But the day after the car was fixed, it once again stalled. It took one week to diagnose the problem: bad computer in the car. This might have been disastrous had it happened on the highway.
Due to corrosion, the brake lines ruptured while I was braking. I fear that the corrosion will also lead to fuel line leakage. There is an existing recall on both components, my VIN# is not included in the recalls campaign number on brake lines 96v2280000
The first problem began with the timing belt breaking, I returned to casino auto sales to find a solution, their mechanic " fixed" the problem so I thought only to have the same problem occur again about a month and half later with a bad fuel pump added to the problem so I went somewhere else to have that fixed. About a week after I purchased the vehicle I was taken to sears to purchase a new set of tires, I was told by a sears rep. That I was lucky to not have had an accident because the wrong size tires were put on the car which caused me to have problems with the right passenger side tired with wobbling. …
I have had nothing but trouble with this car. Fuel pump had to be replaced after only a few months of owning (bought it new). I have not been notified of all recalls on this car. I was told after the last incident, when my car engine would cut off with no warning at highway speeds, that I needed a new fuel pump. $500 later I found out that there was a recall on powertrain control module and screws that could cause stalling of the engine which is what I had explained to the dealer that the problem was. They never mentioned any recalls to me.
Engine stalling problems, fuel pump and leaking head gasket replaced, stalling continued, vehicle taken to another dealership, repairs made to computer, loose fan belts tighten, which dealership failed to do when installing timing belt.
Was filling vehicle with fuel & noticed it was leaking on ground. Took vehicle to dealer. Consumer was informed by mechanic that filler neck had rusted & fell over & out of the way. This caused the leakage.
The fuel filler neck that runs to gas tank is rusted. Consumer states when filling tank gas pours all over the ground. Consumer feels this is very dangerous. Please provide any further information. Ts
The vehicle's fuel tank had a small extra hole in it which was plugged by a small vinyl plug. It appeared that he fuel ate through the plastic plug and allowed fuel to leak out.
The wires that run through the gas tank one of those wires caught fire and burnt a hole in tank. Consumer feels lucky the car didn't blow up. Please provide any further information. Ts

The fuel and rear brake tubes can experience accelerated corrosion between the tubes and a rubber isolator.
