I have problems with my wipers going on and right back off since the month I bought this vehicle in 2000 . I cant get it fixed because noone knows why it does it . Just this week I had my fan relay module replaced , only to learn my transmission is now not worknig it stops at 3rd gear only to drop to 1 gear . While trying to get that fixxed they told me my water pump is leaking (which is OK and expected of most vehicles , ) I have had to have my dash light computer reset because all my ac dfrost and wiper lights were blinking continuously. I dont know what to do this is only a 97 model and I havent even made my final payment but now I have all these expensive repairs. I have had I tick in my motor that rattles on acceleratin forever and change my oil every 3 to 4000 miles like I should . …

The vehicle was turned off and a fire ensued. The contacts arms were burned. The fire department extinguished the fire and filed a report. The vehicle was destroyed. Daimler Chrysler stated that they would send an investigator to inspect the vehicle, but no one ever arrived. The dealer sent a letter from the customer claims resolution group instead, which stated that the investigation had been completed and the claim was denied. NHTSA campaign id number 00V268000 (fuel system: gasoline: fuel injection system) was referenced. The purchase date and mileage information were unknown. A spark from an unknown source ignited gasoline from a small leak in the fuel pump and resulted in the minivan catching on fire. The wiring of the vehicle was also burned in the fire. The repair shop who intially looked at the vehicle felt it would be better for Chrysler to perform the repair work due to the wiring being involved. Our local Chrysler dealership refused to allow the car to be toed to the dealership until national Chrysler sent out an investigator to determine the cause of the fire. We have been provided little information from Chrysler other than their belief the fire was not due to a manufacturing problem. They have not stated what they believe caused the fire and the delay in getting our vehicle repaired was over 1 week. We have yet to get the vehicle back!
Check engine light fail to come on. This in turn cause the fuel pump to start failing, which in turn cause one of the heads to have a mis-fire. This has cause me to fail maryland emissions cause they hook your vehicle up to a computer. Break down of repairs below from the Chrysler dealer that calls it a five star dealer !!! Fuel pump = $600.00 check engine light ( wiring ) = $350.00 new head one side = $1,100.00 this is from a man who changes the oil every 2,500 miles and takes great care of the vehicle my vw has 250,000 miles and still runs great. I called Chrysler but they said it my problem.
Fuel gauge intermittent non-functional. Increasingly more frequent engine dying episodes, then is able to restart after 5-10 minutes rest period. MIL lamp code reads battery power disconnect to PCM during previous 40 engine cranks. I suspect a faulty relay( switch) component that fails at certain voltages and after equilibration rest period its value returns to normal and restarts (allows current to pass through from battery. Source to PCM and into ignition circuit).
When van was hit by another vehicle, on the passenger's side at a high rate of speed, there was no deployment of the passenger's front air bag. Also, horn does not work, remote entry on driver's side door does not work, air bag warning light stays on, fuel gauges does not work, A/C heater blink on and off, inside dome light blinks on and off, steering column freezes, cruise control works on and off.
Dt*: the contact stated since the vehicle was purchased in 2002 from an independent dealer, the vehicle has been having on going problems with the electrical wiring, alternator, radiator, thermostat, cooling system. Diagnostic testing is needed for gross pollution. The vehicle has failed under fair weather conditions three times since purchase. Events leading up to the failures of the fan, radiator and transmission occurred when vehicle started to run hot, causing transmission to blow out. Service for these components were performed at an independant auto shop.
Purchased vehicle used a year ago, after 1 fuel fill up service engine light came on and smelled fuel strongly in the back. Noticed raw fuel leaking onto the left rear tire& wheel well. Took to dealer for tests, they found leaks from ldp to the tank at a rubber elbow with a raw fuel leak at the connection between the filler neck and rollover valve. Told we need fuel tank replaced to fix the problem costing more than $700!

Vehicle description: Mini vans built with 3.3l and 3.8l engines have fuel rails with nitrole rubber o-ring seals that can degrade over time. Fuel leakage from the underhood fuel injection fuel rail could result, increasing the likelihood of a vehicle fire.
Remedy: Dealers will install a seal on the vehicle fuel rails to prevent external leakage of fuel from the fuel rail crossover tube, should the existing o-rings continue to degrade. Owner notification began on January 25, 2002.
