VIN: [redacted] both driver and passenger side wheel/hub bearing assemblies, very expensive parts, failed at 64K miles and 69K miles respectively. Parts replaced w/partial reimbursement by GM... Nothing I could have done as a consumer to prevent the failure, so GM should have reimbursed me fully for the design or manufacturing flaw. Updated 07/24/2012
There is something wrong with my front end the steering has been giving me problems I'm scared to drive my car. I saw on the news today that there is going to be a recall in Oldsmobile intrigues up to 1999 but my car is a 2001 and it's been giving me the same problems.
My complaint is the front stabilizer bar for my car. I have replaced it once with another bar. This is the third bar that has been on this car. The bar needs to be made alot better than it is currently. I am tired of replacing the same part?
2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue. Consumer states problem with check engine light and a.I.r. Pump the consumer stated the air conditioner failed and was blowing out hot air on the passenger side and cold air on the drivers' side. The wheels were no good. The plating on the inside would come off and create problems for the tires sealing properly, therefore an uneven wear occurred. The consumer also stated he began to have steering problems, there were several lights coming on the dash and going off, but the dealer was unable to diagnose the problem. The consumer began to investigate and discovered the part that was causing the lights to illuminate was the hydraulic brake modulator which cost $1,000. The transmission would shift hard at times and sometimes whine while driving. The turn signals did not always work or they would shut off while blinking. …
My 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue is suffering from the same pre-existing issues as other Oldsmobile Intrigue's. Such as the engine and engine cooling, the exterior lighting and electrical system. I have looked on www.safercar.gov and called 18004249393 and my Oldsmobile consultant 1800442653. As the only thing said is that my vehicle was not effected. I do think my vehicle was affected and here are the reasons. Tl* the contact owns a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The contact stated that there was an abnormal noise that progressed, which sounded like a knocking associated with the engine assembly rods. While driving an 20 MPH rate of speed, the vehicle failed to move. A local mechanic diagnosed that a rod fractured and water and oil leaked into the engine, which caused a major issue. …
In minor sideway skid, rr lower control arm bars (2), bent like they were made of coat hangars. Car only has 12000 miles on it, 1999 olds Intrigue, garage kept. Car flipped on to right side when control arm bars bent, causing vehicle to roll over on to side. Son matthew injured. This May be all w bodies in GM line. Cheapened system, new standards are needed to prevent vehicle roll over in minor skid. Son was not speeding at time of accident. After owning 38 GM cars, this disgusts me.
Tl* the contact owns a 1998 Oldsmobile Intrigue. The contact stated that the rear driver side lower control arm bracket failed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rear driver side lower control arm bracket needed to be replaced but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 150,000.
My car would make noise and rattle also steering became difficult , had to replace rack and pinion. The 2 nd thing is that my car would shut off any where any time and I had to replace the ignition switch. Now I find out there were recalls on both these things which I never knew that there was a recall, except for the rear seat belts. Now , I, my family or numerous people on the road could have gotten killed when my car shut off. I find out that GM knew about these things and never told me? That makes me very angry and I don't appreciate all the money that fixing these things cost me.
