After rounding a curve and seeing a deer and thinking how lucky I was that it didn't jump out in front of me, my engine died and I lost control of the vehicle. It went off into the drivers side ditch and hit a field driveway culvert with the divers side tire, which ultimately bent the frame and totaled my car.. However, the airbags did deploy and I had only a minor injury. My elbow went through a drivers side air vent. Since my car is totaled and the recall sounds like it was the cause, can I get my car fixed or some kind of compensation? I had a lot of keys on my car ring as a work for the city.

3 problems. I think they are all electrically related. First, is one that has been noted on this site about the interior lights and headlamps dimming occasionally for long periods of time. Second is the right front blinker doesn't always blink when signaling, it just stays on. At least the interior turn signal blinks fast to indicate that a problem exists. Lastly, the engine has "misfired" on several occasions now causing the service engine soon light to come on. Now, this problem was "fixed" at the place I purchased the vehicle. A crankshaft position sensor was replaced. For 2 months this problem didn't occur. Now it occurs more and more frequently.

My 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue with the 3.5l motor overheated. I had the vehicle towed to my dealer and after a week was advised the motor had to be removed and the heads pulled. Apparently due to the reaction between the steel head bolts and the aluminum motor, the threads corroded and gave way allowing the head gaskets to leak. Since the car had 113,000 miles on it, it was past warranty though I feel GM should have put some type of coating on the bolts to keep this corrosion from occuring. Cost in this case approached $4,000.

My 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue began with heater malfunctioning during January 2007. The seymour, wi. Gustman dealershhip handled my complaints. Gasoline was found in the coolant, and the resulting repair bill was $3025.00 I feel that the Oldsmobile/general motors company was responsible for this defect and ought to pay for the repairs since it became known to me that they already had a repair kit , which implied that they knew of this problem beforehand. Updated 10/15/07.

Power steering gear assembly was replaced at 26,000 miles. Currently, at 35,000 miles, the lower steering shaft must be replaced. The consumer stated the vehicle continued to snap and pop when turning the wheel and over small bumps. The consumer took the vehicle several times, with no answer until recently, in which the dealer stated the steering column should be replaced. The window motor and thermostat failed.

2000 olds Intrigue will not crank intermittently. Once it cranks car starts and runs perfectly. Has been into dealer several times, but to no avail. Crank sensor was replaced 2/2006 at my expense. It made no difference in cranking problem. Also has flickering problem with headlights. Alternator has been replaced twice at GM's expense.

My car's engine is overheating. I took car to dealership, but they don't want to fix the car. They claim that it is not under warrenty. I took the car to another olds dealership and they are going to replace the thermostat and thermostat housing, but this is going to cost me. This car is still under it's extended warranty.
