I noticed that the rear view mirror was wobbling side to side while driving. At a stop light I attempted to adjust it. When I touched it the rear view mirror detached from the windshield. At first I thought that the adhesive had failed, but upon further inspection, I found that the glass itself had chipped out. This rear view mirror is equipped with an electronic compass so it has an electrical cord. I had to drive for several minutes with the mirror swinging from this cord. At the next stop light I was able to disconnect the electrical cord and take the mirror down completely. So there is a hunk of glass still stuck to the mirror mount and a crater in the windshield where this hunk of glass used to be. The crater is approximately 1.5" long by 1" wide by 0.093" deep. This occurred in a Nissan Xterra se equipped with a rockford fosgate sound system with subwoofer. …
Tl contact owns a 2005 Nissan Xterra. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH the sun visor on both the passenger and driver side had fallen almost causing a crash to occur. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer to have the sun visor replaced and the dealer stated that they were unable to offer any assistance. The contact stated this was a safety defect and wants the manufacturer be responsible for the repairs. The failure mileage was 151,000.
2004 Xterra has been in the shop for various reason. When the vehicle was taken to the dealer for one problem the vehicle was returned to the consumer with a defective right door. The radio also does not work. When the power window was rolled down the consumer heard a grinding noise. The left and right front window regulator have been replaced five times. Both front window run channels warped twice and caused the windows to jump when they were rolled down.
Rear window busted out on it's own. There was no one touching it or anything. My wife was getting out nephew out of the back seat and the window busted out, spreading pieces of glass all over the back inside and outside of the vehicle. I want the glass replaced free of charge and someone needs to check and see what caused the window to bust out so no one get hurt or has a wreck while driving down the road and the window bust out.
I have a problem with the front windows of my Nissan Xterra, I bought the car two months ago and the front windows stopped working twice already. I was told by the service manager that there is a problem with the window regulators in the xterras and that Nissan does not have a recall or even has a solution to this problem other than having to change the same part over and over. As we all know we buy new cars for their dependability not because we like the payments!
Dear sir/madam: my vehicle has had the following problem/failure of the rearview mirror system, yet the dealer states it my responsible to pay to fix the item regardless of a formally issued service bulletin. Is that true?? Copy of service bulletin: make : nissanmodel : xterrayear : 2001 manufacturer : Nissan north America, inc. All of the window regulators on my 2002 Nissan Xterra do not work, causing the windows to never be used for fear of them being stuck in the down position. I have had to repair the drivers side once already to the tune of $200. This apparently a known problem by Nissan, and the best they would do is to extend the warranty to 60K miles or 5 years from purchase. Most people I've talked to were already past this point,so there is nothing that Nissan will do for them...me included. I could replace the other 3 windows but at $200 ea and with it being a known issue why should I be stuck with this.
Major electrical fire which destroyed the engine room harness , shorted the power transiistor in the distributor, desstroyed the hood release cable and burned the windshield washer tubing, and also multiple fuses and relays.this condition occured due to the manufacturer crushing the wiring for the left front combination light under the air filter housing against the metal body during installation at the factory.all parts retained and vehicle available for insoection vehiicle currently not running.
