My Nissan Versa 2024 began going into "limp mode" and the power is significantly reduced. The car barely accelerates and only on flat surfaces when this happens. The check engine light came on and I took it to the dealership and they changed the cam shaft sensor they believed to be the problem, however, when I drove it off the lot the power was still reduced and not what it is normally like. I took the car back and they told me it was unnecessary to drive it and it wouldn't help them they know what's going on. However, a few days later they decided to test drive it when it was working properly and they stated no problems with the vehicle. Nissan was contacted through the dealership and it was explained to me that the car is glitching and sending an unnecessary code causing the problem, but there is actually nothing wrong with the car and there's nothing they can do. …
My 2024 Nissan Versa S goes into a "limp mode" almost any time I stall and then turn the engine back on. In this limp mode, acceleration is dangerously slow. Often acceleration is so weak that if I drive up a hill in this limp mode, the car will lose speed even while I'm pressing the gas pedal all the way to the floor. This can easily be reproduced and inspected by purposely stalling the car in a quiet parking lot and then trying to accelerate out onto a road. In this mode I cannot reach safe speeds on major roads in a timely manner. I have to turn my hazards on and let people go around me as I accelerate for a full minute. On highways and major roads with higher speed limits this is quite dangerous. When stuck in this mode I do not have the ability to accelerate fast enough to get out of the way of any oncoming danger. …
If you stall the car, upon restart there is a great degree of power loss. It seems like it's the VDC system turned up to the max, where it's limiting engine power, and applying the brakes. It makes the car much slower and difficult to get up to speed. This can cause a safety risk as it causes the car to perform unpredictably. When this happens, in order to reset the system and make it work normal, I need to turn the car off, get out, close the door, then get back in and turn it back on. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I suspect it has something to do with the ECU/VDC system How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? If I need to get out of the way of something, or need to get up to speed on the highway, in any of those scenarios it could put me at risk. …
The car lost power and would not go over 40 MPH. This made for a dangerous situation on the road. P2615-00 A Crankshaft Position Sensor code was thrown, but when I took it to the dealer they could not replicate the problem. I have video documentation of the problem I can provide. Since I posted my video, several other people have come forward with the same issue. It seems as if when the manual transmission version of this car is stalled or fails to start, it will throw this code and severely reduce the power. It seems to be a simple software issue, but so far all the Nissan dealers who have looked at these cars have not been able to provide a fix. This problem apparently affects all 2022-2023 Versas with the manual transmission. The problem is likely they did not properly code for the removal of the push to start button. …
I'm [redacted] with health issues and my mother is [redacted] we bought a car at ( Drive Time ) hoping we would get a good car to go to the dr , I have a [redacted] I can't afford it though,in my opinion I felt drive time took advantage of us because I look Mexican and indigenous, they sold us a bad car where the engine was bad , as soon as I drove it there's was a smell I didn't think k anything about it but the manager at pep boys in pearland tx told me the reason I smelt something is because some liquids were mixing in the engine that are highly toxic when the engine is about to fail , drivetime would not take the car back and get us a good car, I found Nissan Clearlake and they put a new engine in the care I'm thankful but now it has something worse , I was in the freeway and the engine light came on malfunction the car would not move but the engine was still on , it was s wry I had …
On two separate occasions while driving at night two weeks apart, the car dash lights went out, power dropped real quickly, steering became hard. Barely got off overpass and road to safety. Turned the car off. Waited approximately 5 minutes and car restarted and was fine for two weeks. On second time had the car towed to Fred Haas Nissan. They could not reproduce problem and found no codes. Will have to chance driving until happens again. Very dangerous as I would have been hit if not for no traffic. In December 2022 had minor bumper collision. The collision sign had already been on for about three months. Now the sensor is damaged. However, no problems a year later until now. This is a new problem and hope to get it resolved. Very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2021 Nissan Versa. The contact stated while depressing the accelerator pedal from a stop sign, the vehicle started stalling. The contact stated the crash indicator warning light was illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer, but the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 21.
The car actuator failed for the left rear door. My car has less than 10k miles, and I submitted a case to their consumer affairs for it to be covered coz it's a premature failure, and they refused to pay for the repairs. I didnt know my car doors were no longer locking properly, and was left in a parking lot unsecured. Also, a passenger sitting on that side of the car would have had to go out the other door, and had there been an accident, that person wouldn't have been able to easily get out. They don't take it as a safety concern. And I know other models of Nissan have had actuator issues, so I don't think this is an isolated incident. And they should be repairing premature failures. Their consumer affairs department has been less than helpful as I have been without a car for almost 3 weeks now, and when I kept trying to call them back, they'd send me to voicemail. …
