My wife [redacted] ) was traveling in her 2024 Nissan Rouge at highway speed on her way to work on 1/5/26, in Southeast Alabama, no defroster on, or other car in sight. While traveling her rear windshield randomly busted into a thousand pieces. She immediately notified myself [redacted] ) and the local Sheriffs Office, first believing someone had shot at her car. After deputies arrived and a thorough investigation, revealed that fortunately no one had shot at the car. That it appeared to be a random flaw/defect with the back glass windshield. They also noted that that a similar incident occurred last week mid morning, with a gentleman in a same make and model rouge, as he was traveling, busted without warning. I attempted to call dealership, but they send unbothered and informed me nothing could be done due to no active recall. …

The rear window completely exploded with no impact from anything. The vehicle was stationary and stopped at a stoplight when it sounded like a gunshot and the rear window completely exploded. There were cracks all over the entire rear window and the window quickly started to fall apart completely. This was dangerous because there was glass falling everywhere on the road and into the car. Now the car is open to the elements. Nissan will not cover this repair under warranty and the insurance will not pay to fix this issue without charging a deductible. Nissan dealership is charging $245 to even look at the vehicle. There is currently a class action lawsuit against Nissan for this issue with other Nissan Rogues for Nissan using glass that is too thin for the vehicle.

I drove my car home and parked it in front of my neighbors house. It was on Sunday, August 2, 2026. About 3.5 hours later I went to move my car, and noticed that the window was shattered, with a hole on the bottom right and a hole on the bottom left. There was glass on the road and inside my vehicle. There were no rocks or object in the back of my car that would of caused that. My neighbor has a Ring Camera, and you could see me park my car at approximately 4:45, and around 8:00 PM you can see my father walking up to their door to ask if they heard or seen anything. There ring camera showed no one around the car from the time I parked it and until we noticed that it was shattered.

My friend went to start my car and she heard a large boom and looked back, and my back windshield had shattered and glass on the ground and inside the car. If I had been opening or closing the trunk it would have severely injured us. Also, there was nothing that had hit it, it was sunny and in the 80 outside. I had to go to Safelight and get a covering for it, while i wait on a replacement. I contacted Nissan and they said that warranty does not cover glass and that maybe something was already wrong with it. My windshield was perfectly intact until it shattered and blew out everywhere.

The rear liftgate glass on my 2024 Nissan Rogue SV AWD spontaneously shattered. There was no collision or known impact with the glass. The vehicle had aprox. 49300 miles and I had purchased it form Enterprise car Sales approximately one week before the incident. the rear glass suddenly shattered/imploded. I contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and they opened a case under my VIN. Nissan provided me with a case number but advised that they will not provide repair assistance at this time. Enterprise Car Sales has been notified and is having its mechanic inspect the vehicle.
