There is a dash light coming on and warning saying "front radar obstruction" causing car to randomly brake, and cruise control not to work. Thought it was originally from a deer I hit March 30, 2025. Replaced sensors, cameras, emblem, checked wiring, recalibrated, multiple diagnostic test all done by more than one person. No one can figure it out even after replacing and testing it's still happening. Insurance deemed it a coincidence that this started happening after I hit the deer and said problem is not from hitting the deer.

Since I bought the car numerous times(over 50) the car stops or the brakes activate automatically for no apparent reason. Three times my daughter came extremely close to getting into a major accident being that the car behind literally touched the back bumper. I'm afraid of letting my daughter drive it as the car was bought for her, as I'm afraid she'll get into an accident. Took the car three times to Nissan service as was told this problem is a normal occurrence with this car model and MissN k owns about it but won't do anything to solve the problem as of yet. I was told that they could replace the "laser" for $2100 which I would have to pay for but there is no guarantee that it would solve the problem. When I asked what are my options besides that I was told to trade the car in and buy another one as if I have the luxury of just buying another car. …

While driving at approximately 15-20 mph, my vehicle suddenly started beeping and displayed a quick warning message on the dashboard before the brakes locked up on their own. The incident lasted only a few seconds, but it was extremely alarming. This same issue has now happened twice, both times in the exact same location on the same road, driving at about the same speed. The first incident was roughly around [redacted], the second incident was [redacted]. On both occasions, I had my [redacted] twin daughters in the car with me, and it frightened all of us. Thankfully, there were no vehicles directly behind me either time, otherwise it could have resulted in a rear-end collision. I believe there were cars ahead of me, but they were far enough away that I don't think they triggered the sensors. …

The vehicle experienced multiple incidents of unintended/sudden braking without an obvious hazard present. Approximately six weeks ago, while traveling eastbound through downtown [redacted] , with children in the vehicle and traffic behind me, the vehicle abruptly engaged braking on its own, causing a sudden slowdown and creating a potential rear-end collision hazard. A second similar incident occurred a few weeks later while slowly pulling into a Target Drive-Up parking space, where the vehicle again unexpectedly braked without driver command. The issue appears possibly related to the automatic emergency braking/forward collision avoidance system, although the exact cause is currently UNKNOWN. No collision occurred, but the unexpected braking created a significant safety concern for vehicle occupants and surrounding traffic. …

While driving at speeds between 30-40 miles per hour my 2018 Nissan Rogue suddenly brakes with no warning. I did not touch the brakes and there was no other vehicle in front or behind me. These incidents really scared me. This Sudden braking has happened six different times between November, 2020 and June 2021. I took it to the dealer(Nashville Downtown Nissan) to repair it when it first happened. They said that they fixed the problem free because it was under the 30,000 mile warranty. Four months later the the car suddenly braked at 40 miles per hour twice within a 3 day period May 27,2021 and May 30, 2021. Around June 1, 2020 I took my 2018 Nissan Rogue back to Nashville Downtown Nissan to repair the sudden braking problem again. They wanted to charge me $2,000 because it was no longer under warranty. I said that I did not have $2,000. So they told me to pay $182 for checking it. …

Every time I drive the vehicle, a "Malfunction" warning appears after several beeps. It displays a collision icon, and states "See Owner's Manual". However, this does not appear in the owner's manual. Additionally, every time I drive the vehicle, there are several beeps and both a "warning (!)" and "collision" icon appear before a message stating that there is "front radar obstruction", despite there being no obstruction. The third and final, and most dangerous issue has happened once in the six days I've had the car so far: A warning appeared that there was a driver on my left that was too close to me despite there not being a vehicle on my left. The emergency brake immediately turned on and slowed my car to a near stop. This happened on the highway in a 65 mph zone. This put my safety and the safety of others at immense risk of collision due to unnecessary and unexpected stopping.

The AEB system in my vehicle was upgraded due to recall in May 2021. On August 17th the AEB system engaged as I was driving down the road, there were no vehicles or obstructions in front of me to cause such action. I did avoid being hit from behind due to quick thinking and pulling to side of road. When the brakes engaged a malfunction warning flashed on my screen. No warnings were issued prior to incident. I called Nissan service they said they were unaware of a problem but I made appt to bring in to be evaluated, they did not find anything wrong and I was charged a diagnostics fee. After some research I did discover there are many other complaints of the same matter and also that there is an ongoing class action lawsuit against Nissan for this problem. I was also told by the Dealership manager that this is a problem with many Nissan vehicles.
