While driving on the interstate, the car slows down and will not accelerate. If I press the gas to get out of the way of on coming traffic the car skips and does not go over 40 MPH. I try to get to the far lane in hope's of not being hit. I turn the car off and try to start it again and the engine light comes on, try again to start it and it slowly moves until it gains speed and I keep my hazards on, engine light goes off and it has been doing this periodically ever since.
Driving at 4:50am, it's dark and raining. While driving I noticed fog/steam on my hood. Which sometimes happens when it's raining. Continued driving but noticed it was still foggy/steam from the hood. I decided to go back home and wait until daylight. I don't like driving in the rain or dark. As I entered my neighborhood, I decided to stop and see what was happening. Put my car in park and released the hood. Fire came from everywhere underneath the hood . I jumped out of my car and called 911. On hold for 7 minutes, hung up called the fire department, they directed me to call 911.
