She pulled into a patients driveway and stopped she went to put it in park and the car just took off into the house. She (the driver) had to be taken to the er. She had her foot on the brake still when the car took off. I have pictures of how the right front tire was dragged through the dirt while brake was applied. It damaged the home and did over 5000.00 damage to the car. She insists it accelerated unexpectedly.
While driving down the highway, in my 2011 Mariner it suddenly lost the power to accelerate (engine still running). The wrench light illuminated at this time. Pressing on the accelerator did nothing. Fortunately there was nothing behind me so I coasted about 1/4 mile to the next turn off and coasted off the highway. Then I turned the vehicle off, waited a few minutes and restarted it. I drove about 20 miles home with no other occurrence. The next day (August 14, 2013) I drove about 20 miles to work with no problems. That afternoon I left work and drove about 2 miles at 25 MPH and it lost all acceleration power again (motor still running). I turned it off and restarted it. I drove another 2 miles at 25 MPH and it lost acceleration power again, but this time both the wrench light and the check engine light came on (engine still running). …
Electronic throttle body p2119 code. All of the sudden losses power going into or out of traffic and the wrench tool light "lights up" it May go away by itself or not , "cut be scary" at times it has shut down in several instances on my own st or down the ave or another town etc... For no apparent reason it happens while turning or during acceleration at one point I had to wait for several minutes on the highway before starting the vehicle again and I get similar codes related to tbs powertrain and the fuel cap I noticed that when filling up, I need to stop pumping gas once it has stops automatically, without me topping it off not even once! And the light will most likely will not come on,it May go away by itself if not I erase the code.I clean the electronic throttle body last summer and it has run with no problems at all until now! Well a month a go! …
On that date, I was driving home with my wife at approximately 2 pm. Suddenly, the car went off and the steering wheel went stiff. As I tried to move unsuccessfully, we went down to a slope of about 20 degrees. As a result, both of us had to be taken for emergency treatment for knocks, cuts and follow up checks. So far, it has cost us $16,497.00 and repair of the car us$6,853.00. There has been other events where the car suddenly stops and the steering wheel becomes stiff. But, I don t use the car in the highway but only for shorts errands and within the area where we live. Its been a nightmare. I have changed the throttle casing module, the restraint control module, I put a rubber stop on the acceleration pedal, etc. Again, out of the accident it has been over 4 thousand dollars in trying to fix the car.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Mercury Mariner. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and lunged forward as the engine warning indicator illuminated. The contact powered the vehicle off and back on and drove the vehicle without incident, however, the failure recurred approximately two weeks later. The contact powered the vehicle off and back on, however, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed that the throttle actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Mercury Mariner. The contact was entering a parking space when the vehicle exhibited an abnormally loud revving sound and accelerated into a fence without warning. There were no injuries nor was a police report filed. The contact was able to secure an appointment to have a diagnostic performed on the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but the vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 26,006 and the current mileage was 26,011. Updated 02/09/12 the consumer stated the body damage was repaired. However, the vehicle continues to accelerate. Updated 02/13/12
Same results of the consumer satisfaction program 13n03. A defective throttle body. Car began to stall/choke out while accelerating. It continued to do so until it finally left me on the side of the road. Ford is aware of the problem but because my car was built at a different time/plant does not offer assistance for a known unsafe problem. This started on the freeway and continued after I exited for fear of stalling on the freeway. Car has to be towed/repaired at my expense. A friend has the same model vehicle/same problem last year, but due to her car being built at that plant/time was compensated for the same exact problem. Again, Ford is aware of the problem but minimizes coverage. I can't help but think of what could have happened if my wife/daughter had been driving(at night). In reality, it is unsafe and I could have been killed.
Speed shift forced on 2nd and 4th, the vehicle has only 77000 miles and transmission is bad, contacted the dealer about the problem and no action taken, they said the vehicle is not on a recall campaign and owner needed to do repair and if the campaign started on this problem in the future they will reimburse the repair amount, I need the vehicle on a daily basis and now I'm stock with the repairs cost of 1500 plus labor. I need to add this vehicle to the recall as shown here: report receipt date: sep 29, 2015 NHTSA campaign number: 15V606000 component(s): power train the vehicle was in motion when it happened , speed was reduced and wrench light came on the dashboard
