Recall notice sent out on May 21, 2016 stated that we "should not drive with anyone in the front passenger seat" until the fix for the recall is complete. It is now November 11, 2016 and there are no fix statements nor any hint when our vehicle (located in houston, tx) will be scheduled for a repair. Driving with the restriction of not using the front passenger seat is extremely inconvenient as we use the car for clients. Lexus dealers state that they have no idea when the repairs can be made and Lexus corporate simply said to contact a dealer for a loaner car, which they refuse to do when contacted. While we recognize that this is a dangerous situation, the excessive time required to come up with a fix is unacceptable to the American public and unconscionable behavior by the manufacturer.

Failure of airbags to deploy in a head-on collision on October 24, 2009 involving my 2009 Lexus es 350. Damage estimates from the involved insurance company total over $15,000.00 for all frontal damage which intrudes into the engine compartment. Estimates which are over $15000.00 indicate that the airbag sensors are being replaced, but there is no charge indicated for the sensor replacement which Lexus is probably doing at no charge. This means that the damage of $15,000.00 are for parts and work other than that involving the front airbag sensors replacement. Injuries sustained by front seat passengers. Driver is being treated for a closed head injury/concussion and passenger is being evaluated for concerns of dizziness, right hip pain and a possible neck injury.

On Tuesday, 6/28/11 my wife was involved in a head on accident. The vehicle in front of her had no brake lights and she slammed into the back of his truck. She has $9,000 worth of front end damage and none of the airbags on her 2009 Lexus ES350 deployed. I find that to be an issue. Due to that fact she has sustained a head, neck, back and knee injury. I contacted Lexus of cherry hill, nj where the vehicle was purchased less then a year ago as a precertified vehicle and was told that it depended on how fast she was going at the time she hit, that would determine whether the air bags would deploy. A car with $9,000 front end damage in my opinion should have deployed an air bag. Something is wrong with this picture.

Takata recall. I received a recall notice and was told 1) I should not have a passenger in the passenger seat of my car and 2) there is no replacement yet. I checked today(8/16/16) and there still is not a solution for this safety defect. This problem with Takata airbags has been going on for several years and there is no solution. How can there be no solution. Have there been no safe airbags installed in the last several years? If there are safe airbags inflators available why can't they be installed on affected autos. I bought a car to transport my wife and grandkids. And I can not use it because of foot dragging by both Takata and Toyota. How much longer must I wait?

Tl contact owns a 2008 Lexus ES350. On February 9, 2010, while the contact was attempting to change gears with his foot on the brake, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. He attempted to slow the vehicle down by depressing the brake pedal with both feet but the vehicle did not stop and collided into a wall. The driver was not injured but the passenger did sustain injuries to the mouth and upper body. A police report was filed. The current and failure mileages were approximately 28,000. The consumer is requesting the findings on the vehicle. Updated evoq 10/13/10 the consumer also stated the air bags failed to deploy. Updated 02/25/11

I was driving on the freeway when I got rear ended with my daughter in the backseat in her car seat, and I being the driver 8 months pregnant. Car was severely damage no air bags deploy, this is not the first time this happens that the air bags do not deploy at the time of the accident. I was wearing my seat belt I hit my forehead on the steering wheel both times. I am concerned regarding this. Very expensive car to have these malfunctions.

Car was being driven into a parking spot at less than 5 MPH when it suddenly accelerated and started to climb a rock hill before it could be stopped. Wheels were turned to right as result of turn into parking spot which caused the vehicle to start tipping over. Air bags were not deployed and repairs are approximately $4500.

8 months waiting for a fix..have called twice. This last time I was hung up on...line just went dead after agent answered. Never called me back even though he had my info. They say a passenger should not ride so my husband and I are looking like "driving miss daisy" how long is this supposed to go on????

Takata recall. Lexus ES350 2009 owner and vehicle residing in sc. Owner scheduled replacement of passenger side airbag with hilton head Lexus dealership. Airbag replacement was available at the dealership but Toyota refused to authorize repair because my Lexus was originally purchased in nj.

Faulty airbag harness wirring. Dear sir or madam, this is to report that 2007-2012 is 250, is 350 and es 350 has faulty airbag wiring harness which disables the airbags. Clublexus.com has received hundreds of complaints regarding this. The repairs will only be done or correct if the vehicle is under 6 years old or 70,000 miles, whichever comes first. Few thousand customers have cars less than 70,000 miles buy beyond 72 months but Lexus refuses to rectify this TSB warning under the warranty. It is not our faults that the vehicles have been driven less than 70,000 miles in 6 years. The cost to repair this is in the upwards of 4000$. This is ridiculous on the part of Lexus and NHTSA. …
