While waiting at a drive thru, the brakes did not respond when pressed and the car kept moving forward. The emergency braking system also did not respond. The car was placed into park and the car still did not stop. This resulted in hitting the car in front of us in line.
With only 4811 miles on our Jeep Wagoneer, it had TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE causing my wife to drive thru a stop sign avoiding pedestrians. I had it towed by Jeep roadside assistance to St.Clair Chrysler Jeep in St. Clair MI. on [redacted]. A week later on [redacted] I was told to come pick up the car and that it was repaired. The porter went to move the car and again TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE. The vehicle was again repaired and when I went to get it, I asked if the brakes were guaranteed to work and no one would say that they were. This car model has a lot of brake issues and I can't have my family drive in it anymore, I traded it in on another new car but lost $14.000 in depreciation do to brakes. This is not my fault.
Third time while driving the car just stops stays on drive but car is completely dead. Have to put in park and turn off and on car to go. Also have a few times of the car is in a parking spot and then go to reverse stop limit brakes and it won't let you go when you put it into drive. It does the same thing and it's stuck until you turn the car off and back on.. The most scary thing is twice it's been in the middle of the intersection that it's died today. It happened for the fourth time three times in a row. I have taken my car into Jeep and has been there for over 69 days in total for many different electrical issues. They keep blaming it on the battery these in corrosion. I don't see how they can get away with this
At stoplight getting ready to turn left light turns green I proceed going about 15 20 mph in the middle of the intersection middle of the turn the car just slammed on its brakes. I thought I got in a car accident but looked around and there was no other cars around. This was very dangerous and could've been catastrophic the car now the next morning was taken to Jeep and they've been working on it for two days with no answers. I just bought this car eight days prior to it happening and do not want to get back in this car so I'm trying to do a buyback or lemon. Law are looking for my options for more so you and other people should be notified it's a dangerous vehicle.

On the highway and interstate highway, during stop in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle randomly automatically shifts into park and apply the parking brakes when attempting to accelerate from standstill. This only happens when you try to move again after stopping, and the vehicle is shifted into park in the most inopportune times. It requires you not only to shift it back to drive with your right hand, and reaching under the dash with your left hand to release the parking brake. When task saturated during an emergency it is highly likely to cause an accident, such as turning left onto a divided country highway while the car is temporally stopped between the two highways. No dealership involvement yet. This occurs randomly, and I have not been able to find a way to replicate it at will. This has occurred more than a dozen of times. …

The contact stated while parking the vehicle in the contact's residential driveway, the brake pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. The contact's wife suffered anxiety as a result of the failure. The vehicle was later towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed as catastrophic brake failure. On [redacted] I was backing up trying to hook up a Uhaul trailer when suddenly my car completely lost its brakes and crashed into the trailer. The brake pedal became completely loose. Luckily for me this happened on my home driveway, because the next day I would be making a 1000 mile trip (Pennsylvania to Panama City Beach) pulling the trailer and if this had happened somewhere along the way, I probably wouldn't be alive right now or someone else could have died. My car had to be dragged onto the tow truck, because after my car crashed behind the trailer, the car got stuck and nothing else worked. Since then, my car has been parked at Hillview Motors (Greensburg/PA), awaiting a solution from Stelantis/Jeep. Today ([redacted]), Stelantis sent an investigator (third party contract) to inspect my car and they will image the Event Data Record using the Bosch Crash Data Retrieval. …
