Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.

The CVT fluid filler tube broke where the braket is, about 12 inches broke off. Dont know how long its been broken, I found it when I was changing the Electronic Throttle Body. This has happened to a lot of autos in the Chrysler family. Go to any Chrysler auto forum, I guarantee this will be something that has happened to 1 if not more people. Just google "broken cvt fluid filler tube" and it will all come up. This has to be a manufacture defect. Happening to too many people. They break at the same place, the bracket, no warning light indicator....nothing! It is usually found when something else is being done under the hood, then you see the broken piece just laying there. Thanking the Lord you and your family are ok, because had this piece of metal tubing broke off and went flying anything could have happened. …

I own a 2013 Jeep Patriot. I have had nothing but issues with it and I purchased it brand new in December of 2012. From it turning completely off on me while sitting at lights. To it having power surges, and the seatbelts stop working. I had the engine replaced March of 2016 and it only has 60,000 miles on it to date. According to what Chrysler said, it malfunctioned on me and it left me stranded on a freeway late at night. There is a constant issue with the coolant system. And I am now needing another engine it, because of that issue. And Chrysler wont cover it even though it is under warranty. I will never purchase another Jeep vehicle.
