Brakes were locking up as I was driving the vehicle. ABS module needs reprogramming. Mechanic inspected, he states the brakes could lock up without this update only available from Chryslar. This repair is in a recall but not for my vin number. I have been told my vehicle is unsafe to drive. ABS light on in gauge cluster.
I manage an emissions testing business a woman came in with a 2007 Jeep Liberty for a smog check. During the asm test, where I have to drive the car on the dynamometer, it hops off the dyno, going through the precautions I take for a rear-wheel drive vehicle(placing a shock in front of the front wheels), and crashes into the wall, damaging myself and $5,000 worth of equipment. Also, the car kept on accelerating into the wall, even when pushing on the brakes as hard I could so that's when I shifted it into park and engaged the handbrake. Obviously, this car has some major problems with it. At first, I looked online and the year and model had numerous recalls on it, including the rear suspension, and brakes locking up, which I believed had happened in my case. …
Tl contact owns a 2007 Jeep Liberty. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the ABS light illuminated on the instrument panel. When the driver approached a stop sign, she noticed that the brakes were not working properly. The brakes then completely failed and the vehicle felt as if it were accelerating, causing her to crash into another vehicle. A police report was filed. The vehicle was still able to be driven, but the brakes barely work. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The recall number was unknown. The current and failure mileages were approximately 9,000.
I was driving on the interstate and several warning lights appeared on the dash board. I took the vehicle to the local repair shop and found out that the airbag clockspring was no longer operational. In addition, the anti lock brake feature, cruise control, and airbag are no longer operational. I have been looking for this part for quite some time and it is not available in most cases. The original cost for the clockspring ranged from $80 to $130 depending on the dealer. I have been able to find one clockspring and the dealer wanted $650 for the part plus installation, and he only had one available.
The airbag clockspring has broken and we were told the airbags, anti lock brakes and the stability control will not work without this part. We have not been able to find this part and have been told that it is on back order and anywhere from 35 to 100 are on the waiting list before us. This is for the mopar replacement part. No one else is making this part and we are forced to drive, what we feel is an unsafe car. Nothing particular happened, the warning lights just went on.

One week ago from 11/28/15, I was informed my brake lights were out. Just suddenly no lights, then one by one tail lights started going out. I had a 2008 compass with the same issue, that was never repairable. I was driving at the time, and with no means of other transportation I have to drive with no lights.
My Jeep Liberty is not listed for having the follow problems according to the VIN number. 1-electrical system 2-brakes - hydraulics-ABS 3-traction control the Jeep brake pedal will pulsate then drop to the floor. Then the ABS and traction control light will come on.
