While driving at speed (~70 mph) on the Interstate, while on a straightaway, the vehicle began to sway as if being pushed by wind or like being passed by a semi truck. The swaying continued for 10 to 20 seconds before the rear passenger tire sidewall suffered a sudden catastrophic failure which made steering the vehicle very difficult. I had not struck any significant road debris prior to this incident or taken the vehicle off-road since purchasing the tires. The vehicle was able to stop in the breakdown lane without losing control. There were no injuries or other incidents as a result of the tire failure. The driver replaced the tire with a spare. The tire repair shop replaced the failed tire under the manufacturers warranty. Approximate miles on the failed tire - ~5000 miles Length of service - < 4 months Tire Size - P 235 / 70 R 16
Tire pressure in all vehicle and trailer tires checked prior to departure on 270 mile trip. Driving 10 MPH under speed limit in right interstate lane when, without warning, sidewall of the hankook dynapro at/m tire blew out. Tire mounted on vehicle's right rear. No brake applied. Vehicle's rapid loss of speed and instability caused trailer to go out of control despite new antisway bar. Vehicle pulled/turned rapidly to the right, leaving the roadway traveling approximately 80' before coming to rest 90 to the roadway in the ditch. Trailer broke free from vehicle despite safety chains, antisway bar, and ball lever locked with padlock. Padlock body was broken by the breakaway as were the safety chains. Antisway bar received an approximately 30 curve to the braking bar (reese brand). …
Was going down a hill. Didn't notice a stop sign. Tried to stop but couldn't in time. Took the corner and hit a tree with my passenger front corner and the Jeep flipped on its side. Smashed my face on the steering wheel shattering my jaw due to airbags not going off and seatbelts not locking. Needed immediate surgery. They had to smash the front window to get me out of the vehicle.
On my 2004 Jeep Liberty I have had the lower front ball joints replace a few years back by the f23 recall. This week as I was replacing upper control arms, which come pre assembled with the ball joint, I noticed the boots for the lower ball joints were again damaged. I also noticed that there is a loud noise when going over unsmooth surface roads, etc. I am thinking this could be caused by the rear upper control arm. Now I'm not a professional mechanic, but common sense tells me that the engineering on the suspension has been compromised. I contacted Chrysler, who told me to contact a dealer, who told me they would get back to me on this problem. I also experienced multiple window regulator problems, along with recalls on the air bags system as well as gas tank protection recalls.
Manufacturers recall: my vehicle makes a serious vibration in the steering wheel and a loud humming noise when I drive down the road. It pulls to the right terribly and wears oot my tires constantly. It fish tales when I accelerate the gas petal and also when I take my foot off of the gas. It walks the road. And feels unstable when u reach 60mph. It feels very unsafe and does it's own thing when we are driving . It just goes all over the road .the results are the same whether it's being driven in the city or highway. Unpredictable my vehicle has been recalled by Chrysler u38 is the recall number and it's off the recall expansion of 12v-085
I have had the front lower ball joints replaced twice on my 2004 Jeep Liberty. I was driving both timed it has happened costing me tow and repair costs. I feel I should have been notified about the dangerous safety recall on this vehicle. I am now after leaning that it also hssv12 recalls and safety issues including the gas tank and suspension and stability of my vehicle am afraid to even drive it out if concern for mine and others safety. I am a 62 year old fudablrd woman and need this vehicle fixed and brought up to safety standards. Please tell me what and where to do to get issues resolved. Thank you
I had just gotten off the highway and took the wrong turn so in the middle of the street I tried to whip a uturn and when I turned my wheel to the left I heard a loud crack and my vehicle was unlevel so I asked my passenger to see if we had blown a tire and he said it looked fine but I got out and looked and saw that the whole entire wheel assembly fell off. I had brake fluid draining in the street and there was the piece (control arm) that was snapped in half leaving my car stuck and broken .
Something loose and smoking under my SUV, told has to do with front end suspension , the 2 front tires shakes ,driving over railroad tracks, speed bumps etc. Causes my front to look lower down to the ground. The r r side along with back tire sensor saying preform service. My front end suspension vibrates and shake like its coming apart, along with tire sensor flashing.driving city neighborhoods with high speed bumps causes the suspension to feel as if it coming off vehicle.
Vehicle vibrates at any speed and worsens upon braking. Have had alignment done 3 times and alignment keeps failing. Tires are all new. Have had the camber and casters replaced in front, did not help vibration. Brakes have been replaced, vibration persists. Vibration is so powerful upon braking that sterring wheel bounces out of my hands. The vibration when driving sounds like I have a flat tire.
My jeeps airbag failed after vehicle crashed into a bush and rolled 60-80 feet down an embankment after hitting an animal on an icy road.. My concern is that I was not notified by my dealer (taylor & sons, ponderay idaho) or by Chrysler regarding any safety recalls until after the crash. I found out about recalls after my insurance agent gave me a list of recalls recently .
