ABS , Traction Control, Power brake booster, AEB inoperative after routine brake pads/rotor service. Vehicle was put into service mode via touch screen radio, rear brake service performed. Upon initial brake pedal application, required to exit service mode for rear brakes, to return caliper piston contact to brake pad. The vehicle disables abs and supporting system and sets codes c0050 , c2227 . As a technician my opinion is the extra brake fluid required to take up open space after service is discharged via accumulator into the brake system with no resistance or pressure due to caliper pistons expanding to the brake pads. …

A warning light popped up to tell me this system was disabled on my dashboard, at the same time the system switched to Italian and all of the units of measure switched to metric without warning. I took it in to the dealership and they reset everything, replaced the radio/computer, and assured me everything was working. Within a week, the same error occurred and the same issues. I took it back to the dealership and they acted like they had no idea why, but would look into it. While waiting I searched online and discovered a notice from Chrysler dated in 2024 saying this issue was occurring and dealerships should just reset the system. I also discovered a multitude of similar issues being reported by other owners of Jeep vehicles across various message boards. …

"Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch into a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). Coinciding with the switch to Italian language, cluster and radio display settings revert back to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. all change, and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. …

Re: 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Summit AWD, Vin [redacted] A Known COMMON Jeep Uconnect problem identified by Jeep Case No. [redacted] Rev.B, Feb. 2023. Problem: with the UConnect 5 system, that on an update the language became Italian ( I wa able to change back to English) and many user controllable functions become inoperative, ie. which I cannot change the settings unless the Dealer reflashes the UConnect's User Controllabe interface. What is very concerning is the loss of Automatic Emergency Breaking (AEB), it is permanently turned "OFF" in yellow, meaning there is no fault with the AEB. I believe the loss of a major Safety System (AEB) is cause to Warrant a Safety Recall. Jeep Customer Care said I will have to pay for the reflash because I am no longer under warranty. This Case [redacted] Rev. B was identified when my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherrokee L was under warranty. …

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -Forward collision system light on dash is illuminated, automatic locks do not engage after vehicle is in motion, paddle shifters do not work. All displays switched to Italian & from standard measurements to metric How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -Forward collision sensors appear to not work as well as doors do not automatically lock as they should. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -Yes, my dealership is aware of this issue and referenced service bulletin S2108000249, this did "fix" these issues temporarily, however a week later this issues happened again. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? …

The last forced OTA update we received on the vehicle has been a complete disaster. The build number is [redacted]. It has lit the FCW off light on the dash despite it being selected as on in the settings. It has also disabled the paddle shifters, randomly turns the language on our display to Italian, randomly locks up the UConnect system into an Android Command prompt and causes numerous issues with the radio. The update has also caused the driver's lumbar support to randomly inflate while driving the car. I've searched on many Jeep forums and this appears to be a common issue. My dealer says there is no "recall" yet from Jeep and wants to charge hundreds of dollars to reflash the software. All reports I have found online show that reflashing the software has not worked for others. See this link in particular: [redacted]

My 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L experienced a sudden, simultaneous failure of multiple electrical, safety, and driver-assistance systems. Without warning, the instrument cluster illuminated a yellow warning light indicating that the Forward Collision Warning (FCW) system was disabled and unavailable. Concurrently, the steering wheel paddle shifters completely stopped functioning, and the vehicle randomly reset its primary language setting to Italian reverted its system units to Metric and Celsius. Furthermore, critical user customization options in the Uconnect 5 infotainment system-specifically the auto-folding side mirrors option, automatic door locking preferences, and passenger seat controls-completely disappeared from the settings menus.

Pedestrian Alert/Forward Collision light warning always on after over the air update. Manufacturer removed option in settings to disable this feature and warning light has been on since this over the air update. Dealer has attempted repair however fix only works for a few weeks and then reverts. Over the air update also disabled paddle shifters, caused language on vehicle to switch to italian, and changed units of measure for speed and tire pressure. This is a blatant safety issue as it is not apparent to driver that speed settings have changed. The inoperable forward Collision system risks the public and passengers safety. The fix provided by manufacturer is temporary and does not resolve the issue.

The radio has been replaced 3 times by the jeep dealer. The issue is over the air updates of the uconnect radio system fail and put the radio in Italian language disable foward collision safety features and other car features that I paid for need to also be enabled by the dealer that the dealer can only activate due to Stella's firewall issue that prevents people to work on their own cars and require the dealership software to fix. The radio replacement does not fix issue even though they replace 3 times. They don't actually have a fix and they are just putting band-aid on the problem. The update they send to the radio over the air corrupts the cars options.
