The visor on the drivers side does not stay up. It hangs loosely down all the time. This is a driving hazard because it is always blocking your vision day and night. At night it is especially dangerous because you just can't plain see. I found online that the manufacturer knows about this issue and has corrected on later models but there a number of vehicles out there that used this defective part. I wrote Hyundai and there response was "your 2006 Sonata is no longer covered under the limited warranty based on the date of first use (dfu). With that in mind, we are unable to provide assistance with the cost of the parts needed for your Sonata. We apologize for the disappointment this May cause you. Please use the following link to navigate onto the NHTSA website if you wish to pursue to file a complaint." this is not right. If they know is defective then they should fix it. …

My car battery light went on. I replaced the battery 2x, replaced the alternator, checked the ground and all connections. My battery light flashes, then goes off then my seatbelt light blinks and goes off and my windshield wipers are not getting the power to wipe and the rear defroster turns off every time the battery light flashes. Ive been to 3 mechanics and they all say bring it to Hyundai. When I brought it they said there was no recall so I left the service room and am now on the NHTSA site.all of this is while both stationary and in motion

The visor on both my 2006 and 2007 is broke and does not stay up. Had to glue it. Also we had an third 2007 with the same issue. This is certainly a safety hazard. The other day I almost got into an accident because I was blocking the sun with one hand and had the other on the steering wheel and had to swerve to avoid an accident and using only one hand almost had me in the other people wreck.

The sun visors in these vehicles fail, and randomly fall while driving which has nearly caused accidents on the road with me several times. They are poorly made cheap materials. The way the visor falls prevents viewing of the road entirely for several seconds until you can shove it back up, and strap it back into place, which is very unsafe.

2006 Hyundai Sonata sun visor. I have had this replaced numerous times on my car. It will catastrophically fail while driving down the road. Last time was in traffic on the free way. Had to put car into ditch to avoid hitting another vehicle. 4,000 miles out of warranty and Hyundai wont replace.

Vehicle has 101,564 miles. Driver side visor flops down into driver field of vision. Visor will not stay in up position when operating the vehicle. Must be replaced as there is no adjustment which corrects the defective condition. After reading forums this was a common complaint by other owners.

The sun visor suddenly dropped and it will no longer stay up. Dangerous impediment to vision while driving. Appears to be a common problem, but Hyundai will not repair it although they could do so at only minor cost.

The sun visor on driver side keeps falling down and does not stay up. Its a safety issue when sun is in my eye and I cant do anything about it. I would hate an accident with sun in my eye and getting blinded.

I own a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 6 cyl, made in the USA, and I am having a problem with my driver side sun visor, it started toward the end of my warranty, of 60,000 mi., and I intended to take it to a dealer, but had to make several trips to columbus ohio and put mileage on in excess of the 60000 MIL. I now have about 65000 mi. On the car. I took it back to a dealer and they said it was out of warranty and they would not fix it. I believe this is a serious safety issue, because I almost caused a serious accident going to columbus on my last trip when a car cut me off at an exit on I-75 and in the midst of trying to maintain control of my car, the sun visor dropped all the way down and I lost control and ran onto the soft shoulder of the exit ramp; had it not been for an alert driver behind me, I could have been killed. …
