On August 23, 2026, I was backing my 2026 Honda Prologue Touring out of a parking space at a Costco parking lot in Cedar Park. I was reversing very slowly, at below walking speed, and repeatedly applying light brake pressure because of interruptions and pedestrian traffic in the lot. While reversing in this manner, the vehicle abruptly and forcefully applied the brakes on its own. The braking was violent enough that I initially believed I had struck an object. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, cart, or obstacle behind me, and no vehicle was crossing behind me from either direction. Conditions were daylight, warm and dry. The electric parking brake did not engage, and no warning message or fault light appeared before, during, or after the event. The vehicle operated normally afterward. …
In approximately early August 2026 (exact date not recorded), while driving my 2026 Honda Prologue Touring at approximately 20-30 mph on a surface street, the vehicle's forward automatic braking system activated without warning and braked hard to a near stop. There was no vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, or obstacle in front of me. I was approaching a pedestrian crossing that was empty at the time. Conditions were daylight and warm, dry weather. The deceleration was violent enough that I was thrown forward against the seat belt. My foot was resting lightly on the brake pedal as I approached the crossing, but I did not brake hard - the sudden, forceful braking was initiated by the vehicle, not by me. The vehicle did not come to a complete stop and the electric parking brake did not engage. …
On December 1, 2025, the 2025 Honda Prologue was pulling into a parking spot between two parked vehicles at low speed. While in forward gear, the Prologue experienced an unexpected acceleration event and collided with three parked vehicles, two of whom were hit with sufficient force to impact adjacent parked vehicles. The driver is unaware of having pressed down on the accelerator and is additionally concerned about why none of the vehicle safety features such as the equipped Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) activated to prevent these collisions. The vehicle was brought to a local Honda dealership, yet they were unable to draw any conclusions regarding why the unexpected acceleration event occurred. The vehicle owner requested a DTC scan report and EDR (event data recording) data from the vehicle, and received the DTC report but not EDR data. …
The contact owns a 2025 Honda Prologue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there was a clicking sound coming from the front wheels while turning in either direction. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, who diagnosed that the CV axle was faulty and needed to be replaced. The CV axle was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired; however, approximately 2,500 miles later, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who diagnosed that the replacement CV axle had also failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance system had malfunctioned and erroneously indicated to stop the vehicle, although no other vehicles or objects were nearby. The vehicle also abruptly stopped in the middle of the road on several occasions with no other vehicles or objects nearby. …
I was driving a 2024 Honda Prologue Elite and was coming to an ordinary stop at a safe distance behind another car at a red light. With my foot continuously and firmly pressed on the brake pedal, a brake alert/warning appeared on the dashboard screen accompanied by beeping, and the emergency brakes automatically engaged, stopping the car abruptly. Then, almost immediately, the vehicle suddenly lurched forward without warning, striking the vehicle ahead of me. I kept my foot firmly on the brake as the warning, beeping, and auto-brake activated again, and the vehicle lurched forward a second time, again striking the vehicle in front of me. This sequence repeated a third time with the same warning/beeping/braking and lurching pattern, causing a third forward impact. …
Shortly after purchase, I observed damaged/torn underhood insulation and reported the condition to the selling dealership, with concern that the vehicle should be inspected for related issues. Prior to a crash incident, I experienced concerns involving braking-related behavior and advanced driver assistance features, including lane assist and object/collision warning functions. During the crash, while reacting to a roadway hazard, the vehicle swerved and struck a pole, and I did not experience warning or intervention from driver assistance features as expected. Following the incident, a diagnostic pre-scan identified multiple faults involving brake control, radar sensors, image processing, and communication systems. Since the incident, similar concerns have continued, including recurring braking/driver assistance concerns, and the issues remain unresolved. …
