What owners report
The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that the Forward Collision Avoidance System would inadvertently activate intermittently without a vehicle nearby. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
When selecting Reverse, the rearview camera usually displays quickly, but sometimes takes several seconds to display, or doesn't display at all (the screen remains black). This detracts from my ability to reverse safely. The radio / vehicle information display usually responds quickly to a button press, but sometimes can take several seconds to respond. Since I don't anticipate the delay, I tend to continue watching the screen while I'm waiting for it to react, instead of paying attention to the road. Especially while driving at highway speeds, these intermittent, variable delays can take my attention away from the road for a dangerous amount of time before I realize I'm not watching the road as I should be. Since the rearview camera uses the radio display, I think these issues may be related. This has been going on since the car was new.
Letter from congressman king on behalf of constituent re 2016 Honda Civic defective car. The consumer stated the Bluetooth would freeze during an incoming call. This can only be corrected by shutting the vehicle off. When the vehicle was idle the air conditioner would blow hot air. The steering wheel melted black particles onto the drivers hands. The consumer requested to have the vehicle replaced.
While driving on i5 headed south to medford, or on June 6, 2014, at around 9:30 pm I struck what appeared to be a small refrigerator which was laying on the highway. There was what appeared to be minor damage to the bumper of the 2012 Honda Civic that I was driving. The sensors for the airbag system were triggered, but the air bags did not deploy. Upon taking the vehicle to the Honda dealership to get repairs, we learned that the harness for the air bag system had been severed.
Was driving on freeway in heavy traffic, car in front braked, hit brakes and they just went to the floor with no effort to stop the vehicle. Slammed into car in front with our 4 and 5 year old boys in back seat. Geico called the car a total loss. Honda refuses to inspect the car in fear of manufacturer defects. To make it worse the airbags didn't deploy. Roads were dry, no ice or anything else to cause inability to stop.
The condenser unit in my 2010 Honda Civic ex has expired. I took it in for an oil change a little over a week ago, and ever since then, the A/C hasn't worked. I returned to the dealer this morning and the service guys insisted that the condenser was puntured by road debris. The manufacter warranty won't cover the cost to repair the damage, nor will my easy care insurance cover it. I purchased this car 7 1/2 months ago brand new.
I have a Honda Civic-2010 that I bought brand new on 2/14/10. On 7/23/10, my ac started running hot-took it to the dealer and they said a rock punctured my ac condenser. This will cost me $830. I understand that there are numerous complaints with this same issue. I wish I knew that before I bought this car.
Tl* the contact owns a 2009 Honda Civic. While attempting to replace the summer tires with winter tires on the vehicle, the vehicle jack failed. The contact's arm became trapped between the wheel well, the brake rotor, and the wheel itself. The contact's father, who was also in the garage at the time, was able to lift the vehicle enough for him to remove his arm. The contact made a second attempt to jack up the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The contact stated that the vehicle sustained damages to the front end, the suspension, and the brake rotors. Aaa was contacted and was able to safely lift the vehicle and replace the wheels. The contact sustained injuries to both arms that required medical attention.
