Takata recall? Airbag light on, took to Honda dealer. Diagnostic found multiple stored fault codes: 32-10 front passenger; 11-10 drivers airbag, inflator saved and cleared codes. Fault still in 31-10. System worked when simulator used, when simulator was removed fault returned in passenger side airbag. Recommended to replace passenger side seat airbag. Part $597; labor $140. Really? Customer declined. Honda dealer says no that if car in collision, no airbags will deploy. Is this true? Is this the subject of the recall? Please advise.
Entered the vehicle, closed the door, turned on the ignition, started connecting my phone to the phone charger and the side airbags (curtain airbags) deployed while the vehicle was in park. Vehicle was not involved in an accident nor had any damage on the body. I have filed a claim with the insurance company, geico and the vehicle is being towed to the closest Honda dealer to examine the data event recorder to review the computer for defects. ..updated 12/11/14 updated 06/2/2015..updated 12/29/15 Honda found the inadvertent deployment was caused by an anomaly on micro chip inside the SRS control unit, resulting in a false detection of impact and incorrect instruction for deployment. The anomaly on the micro chip had become contaminated by a foreign substance during the wafer production process. The crash sensors did not have any anomalies. Updated 1/22/2015

Hi we bought this car 3 years ago and we took it for inspection maybe 10 months ago. We were told my the Honda dealer inspectors that the car didn't need to fix any thing, and that if the car need it any repairs the car did not qualify for it. Since the car had more than 100,000 miles. But on December 16,2016 my son was driving under the rain and as he was switching lanes to exist the freeway his car lost control hit a ramp in the freeway got a damage on the rear bumper, but the most scary part is that the air bags did not deployed at the time of the impact. Instead only the driver size came out did nothing to support his head because the bags did not deflate at the time of the impact. The other defect was that his seat which was the driver sit was ripped from the side and again the air bad didn't deflated . …
I had an accident on 02/07/2017, 09:15 am ( case number b17-02029 )on highway I-93 in windham, nh. I was driving alone to south. Then, because of ice and snow car lost control, spun, hit back and front and passenger side.I stop after 180 degree turn. No one involved. Damages were front back and passenger side and some of interior. Front bumper was fall off. My car was towed by aaa who was called by the police. My passenger side airbags both window and door were dropped, but non of them had air at all. Just empty bags were dragged. Then I checked the air bag status about my car. My car was eligible for recall on dec/20/16 as I see online, but Honda dealer never gave us a notice about the recall. My husband purchased the car 07 as a new at Honda dealer in salem nh.
Takata recall - my son was driving this car and hit another car from the rear on a us highway. This car was totaled. Six airbags went off in the car he hit, but none went off in this car. He sustained minor physical injuries, but has been emotionally traumatized and requires psychosocial therapy. I have been unable to contact anyone who will help us.
During oct 2013 I began to see the airbag warning light come on sporadically. Asked the Honda dealer to investigate and they said there was no problem because it is not on all the time. I went to another mechanic that I use and they ran a diagnostic and said it was defective and needed to be replaced. I paid $2289.17 to replace the passenger side airbag and harness. I want Honda to verify the current airbags are not subject to the recall, I want Honda to verify the replacement airbag is not subject to the recall and I want to be reimbursed for my airbag replacement due to a defective airbag that Honda ignored when I raised the issue at their repair facility in tarrytown new york. I have also written to the customer service department of American Honda motor co, inc in torrance, ca. And am awaiting their response.

Desiccated Air Bag Inflator Rupture
From 2000 through 2017, Takata produced millions of air bag inflators using two types of phase-stabilized ammonium nitrate ("PSAN") propellant -- propellant 2004 and propellant 2004L. After prolonged exposure to high temperature cycles and humidity, inflators using propellant 2004 can degrade, causing the propellant to burn too quickly when ignited.

Electrical overstress
The Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) opened this investigation to determine if the failure of airbags to deploy during severe crashes, in certain vehicles, was the result of a safety related defect. During the investigation a complex failure was studied that can result in non-deployment of subject vehicle air bags and other restraint system devices in severe crash events.
