While detailing my truck on October 30, 2017 I discovered a crack on the dash about an inch and a half long running from the top left of the airbag cover towards the defroster vent . Took the vehicle in for servicing on October 31, 2017 and they stated to contact GMC cares that they were familiar with this kind of problem. I called GMC they stated they were unaware of this problem on my make and model truck. They stated that I needed to contact the dealer and have the dealer contact GMC. The dealer told me to contact GMC. After doing a quick search on the internet I discovered this has been an ongoing problem that GMC has been aware of and is not fixing and apparently this will only going to get worse as time goes by. …
I purchased new in 2014 a GMC Sierra 4x4 I take very good care of my vehicles I park inside a heated garage an wash once sometimes twice a week, including undercarriage. In January while washing undercarriage I noticed the coating on the frame is completely coming off the frame with just the spray of garden hose. I notified the service department at upstate Chevrolet in attica at my last service March 16 2015. The dealership will also verify how well I maintain my vehicles. I am now waiting for a response! In the mean time I went on line to see if anyone else is having same problem and to no surprise alot of GMC truck owners are complaining of this existing problem as well. Please contact me. My family an I have been dedicated GM owners and I am asking if this falls under the lemon law. Thank you for your concern.
The dashboard cracked on its own. Right across the control panel and on the outer edges of the passenger airbag. I have an extended warranty through amtrust (official GM warranty partner) - but they declined to cover the replacement. These cracks are identical to hundreds I see posted from GM truck owners online.
At this occurrence the hood latch does not keep the hood tight when closed. The hood rattles at speeds over 35mph and appears as though it is going to open. As a result of attempting to sufficiently securing the hood, I subsequently dented the hood. I have had the body department at the local dealership look at it and they found that the hood latch needed to be adjusted. After another 2500 miles, this rattle has returned. The complaint is that this is the second 2013 Sierra denali that I have owned since October 2012, since the dealership bought back the first one after numerous problems including the transmission being replaced at 6250 miles and numerous efforts to fix the hood. Same problem two trucks is a cause for concern!

Certain pickup trucks have galvanized-braided-steel tailgate support cables used to support the tailgate in the full open (horizontal) position. Over time these cables can corrode and fracture when loads are applied to them.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the galvanized support cables with stainless steel support cables. In addition, dealers are to inspect the tailgate hinge and replace it, if necessary.
