What owners report
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 equipped with Maxxis Tires, Tire Line: Bravo HT-750, Tire Size: 255/80/R17, DOT Number: 120NK10015028. The contact stated that after the front driver 's-side tire became flat, the contact discovered that the spare tire originally equipped on the vehicle failed to fit the front wheels but did fit the rear wheels. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the spare tire failed to fit the front driver's side wheel due to a factory-installed brake modification, causing the spare to not fit over the front brakes. The dealer replaced the front driver's side tire. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The tire failure mileage was unknown. The vehicle failure mileage was 14,000.
I purchased a 2024 GMC SIERRA 1500 Denali Crew Cab Diesel 3.0L After several times bringing the truck to the dealership I purchased from and conduct all service related work. They finally found a crack/whole in the sidewall that was not done by any road hazard to cause damage but looks like a manufacturer defect. This is now not only prominent on one tire but two of the tires. The area is on the covex area of the tire. BRIDGESTONE ALENZA A/S 02 Size 275/50/R22 This is a huge safety concern as a blowout at 65MPH could cause significant harm to not only people in my vehicle but to others. This is an advisement to get the right attention on this before something catastrophic or deadly. With plenty of tread on the tires (6/32), which equated to 50% life on the tire. The dealership is trying to make me pay for a manufacturer defect of $600+ for the two tires.
At 12,018 miles on my 2024 gmc sierra 1500 I experienced a rear wheel lock up. I have 4wheel drive capability but I had the truck in rear wheel drive only. Thankfully I was not going fast at the time. I was going between 35-45 mph when experiencing the lock up. As I was going down a straight away, I experienced a rear wheel lock up of my 10L80 transmission. My tires were squealing like crazy. I pulled off onto the side of the road. After shifting to reverse and then park and then drive the problem corrected itself. When I brought it into the dealership, they could not find anything wrong with it. Additionally my trucks software was up to date and not lacking any updates. I don't drive this truck very far and only drive about 150 miles a week. A rear wheel lock up of this magnitude at this low of miles is concerning. I'm not rough on the truck by any means. …
I was driving at approximately 25-30 MPH, accelerating from a stop light and I felt a clunk, heard a grinding noise and my back wheels locked up. It was snowy/icy conditions so the back end of my pick-up slid out to the right a little bit before the wheels unlocked and I was able to regain control. I could have slid off the road or into another vehicle had the wheels remained locked. The computer system then alerted me to a transmission issue and to reduce speed immediately and call for service. The pickup was then unable to shift out of 1st gear. The vehicle has been towed to a dealer and I have been informed the valve body in the transmission has to be replaced which is 8-12 weeks backorder.
I was driving approximately 25-30 mph coming over an overpass moving into the right hand lane when my truck right front end failed. The steering and brakes locked up for approximately 50' until I hit the curb for the sidewalk and stopped. I safely exited the vehicle checked the left side of my truck for damage and didn't find anything. I walked around the back of my truck and came to the passenger side where I found my right front wheel and tire completely broken away from both upper and lower control arms, the ball joint broke and failed as well as the brake line. If I was driving on the highway at 65-75 this catastrophic failure could have resulted in a fatal collision. The night before my [redacted] daughter and I returned from her outdoor Ed trip in Sausalito and we drove an hour home to Napa on [redacted] and [redacted] . …
